Watches and Wonders 2024: TAG Heuer’s new Carrera models and Monaco Split-Seconds Chronographs

The brand also introduces its new automatic calibre TH81-00, the lightest automatic chronograph ever made by the brand
For Watches and Wonders 2024, TAG Heuer expands its family with seven new novelties releases across its Carrera and Monaco collections. The latest release includes one Carrera Chronograph, one Skipper Chronograph in 18K 5N rose gold, three Carrera dates, and two Monaco Split Seconds Chronographs.

Bringing back the new Carrera Date models in 36mm, the brand now introduces three new novelties in 18K 5N rose gold. One is Ref. WBN2351.BD0000 featuring white Mother-of-pearl dial with 76 diamonds of the flange and 11 diamond as hour markers, second is Ref. WBN231C.BA0001, entailing  white Mother-of-pearl dial with 76 diamonds of the flange, and last is Ref. WBN2350.BD0000 with copper snail brushed dial. The latter references have rose gold plated faceted, polished applied hour markers. And all the models feature a date window at 6 o’clock and  white Super-LumiNova® applied rose gold plated faceted, polished hands.

Revealed through the caseback is the automatic Calibre 7, boasting a power reserve of about 56-hour power reserve. The watches are finished with fine brushed, polished steel or capped with 18K 5N solid rose gold H-shape bracelets. 

The watches are priced at Rs. 6,21,000 (approx.), Rs. 4,46,000 (approx.), and Rs. 4,32,000 (approx.) in the aforementioned order.

Inspired by the 7753 SN Heritage model from the 1960s, which had a silvered dial with black legible subdials, is the latest TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph (Ref. CBS2216.BA0041), with 39mm fine brushed steel case and 60-seconds/minute black flange with tachymeter scale topped with double anti-reflective glassbox domed sapphire crystal. The silver sunray brushed dial entails a black minute chronograph counter and hour chronograph counter at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively. There is a silver small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock, on the bottom of which resides the date window. Hand and hour markers are rhodium-plated, faceted, and SuperLumiNova coated. 

Turning over the watch reveals the automatic Calibre Heuer 02 (Ref. TH20-00), with 80-hour power reserve. A three-row steel bracelet flanks the watch. 

The cost price of the watch is Rs. 5,98,000 (approx.)

The latest Carrera Chronograph Skipper in the line comes in 18K 5N rose gold, based on the best-selling ‘glassbox’ design launched in early 2023. The 39mm timepiece features a blue flange with 60 second / minute scale and a blue circular brushed dial displaying green, orange, teal blue colour on the counters, same as used in the 1968 released original Skipper chronograph.

The dial is further incorporated with regatta count-down indicator at 3 o’clock coloured in green, orange, teal blue, second indicator at 6 o’clock with a date window at its bottom, and teal blue colour lacquered hour chronograph counter at 9 o'clock. The orange tipped hands and hour markers are 18K 5N rose gold plated faceted, polished, and applied with white Super-LumiNova. There is also an orange lacquered central hand

The watch is powered by automatic Calibre Heuer 02 (Ref. TH20-06), boasting an 80-hour power reserve. A blue fabric strap completed the watch.

Appearing in dynamic red (Ref. CBW2181.FC8322), inspired by the brand’s racing DNA and classic blue (Ref. CBW2182.FC8339) line's original colour code hues, the new 41mm TAG Heuer Monaco Split Second Chronographs celebrates the line’s 55th anniversary via carry forwarding the line’s iconic features like square case and left crown. However, the latest iterations are updated with light materials such as grade-5 titanium—the watches only weigh 85 grams. The dial is semi-skeletonised and feature : black opaline minute and hour chronograph at 3 and 9 o’clock, and a small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock.

The watches house the brand’s newly launched calibre automatic TH81-00, made in collaboration with manufacturer Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier—the movement is entirely made in titanium and is the lightest automatic chronograph ever made by the brand till yet. “Every component of the watch reflects our passion for horological artistry.” said Carole Forestier-Kasapi, TAG Heuer’s movements director.

Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can see the TAG Heuer’s shield shape oscillating weight with hand painted and brushed finished red or blue gradient. The watch serves two power reserves - 65 hours when chronograph function is not in use and 55 hours when in use. A hand-stitched red or calfskin strap embossed with a fabric pattern, complements the novelties. 

Both the watches are priced at Rs. 1,24,22,000 (approx.)
