The new Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition pays homage to the brand’s long standing partnership both with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team and the America’s Cup. The 45mm timepiece debuts with a tourbillon in CarbotechTM material, a super resistant material lighter than titanium and ceramic, whose matte surface depends on the cutting of the material and makes it unique.

The watch has a unidirectional rotating titanium DLC bezel with Arabic markings and a Super-LumiNova® coated flange, and a skeleton dial displaying the brand’s patented tourbillon at 6 o’clock, which rotates every 30 seconds. The hand-wound P.2015/T mechanical calibre boasts a four-day power reserve. There is a 24-hour GMT function and a night and day indication, and white and red accents. The watch is offered with either a Luna Rossa bi-material strap or a rubber strap, in monochrome black. One can see the movement as well as the power reserve indicator on the caseback. The timepiece is water resistant up to 300 metres.

However, the watch is officially set to release in July this year.

Encased in a new innovative material, Ti-CeramitechTM was seven years in the making by the brand, and flaunting it now is the new Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa Ti-CeremiTech that appears in two references - PAM01466 and PAM01543, encased in Ti-Ceramitech, a inspired by high- performance material—it is 44% lighter than steel and can withstand high pressure, and very high thermal stress. The material took seven years to develop by a titanium ceramization process through Electrolytic Plasma Oxidation, which gives the watch its distinctive blue hue—the process is now patented by Panerai. Further, the titanium alloy is transformed into a dense ceramic layer, to which a specific choice of elements is used and combined with the electrolyte composition for the desired blue colour.
