LVMH Watch Week – Day 1

On the first day of the second edition of the LVMH Watch Week, we bring you the major highlights from the Swiss watchmaking powerhouse Bvlgari.

Following the success of the debut LVMH Watch Week in Dubai last year, 2021 starts off on a positive momentum with the digital edition of the LVMH Watch Week. The LVMH Watch Week 2021 begins from the 25th of January to the 29th with novelties releasing from the watchmaking Maison Bvlgari, Hublot and Zenith.

The first day took with joint press conference held by Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO, Bvlgari Group, Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO, Hublot and Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith. “Once again we have decided to join forces in order to showcase the strength, innovation and watchmaking skills of the Group’s Watchmaking Brands, Bvlgari, Hublot and Zenith. In a new format due to the current sanitary situation, the Maisons will present digitally their 2021 creations and news. The LVMH Watch Week has proved to be an important “get together” for our industry in order to meet with all our partners beginning of the year and we are very thankful to them for joining us” says Stéphane Bianchi, CEO, LVMH Watch and Jewellery Division.

Today we bring you the major highlights from Bvlgari:

1. Bvlgari Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT

Bvlgari disrupted the luxury sport watch segment with its 2020 Octo Finissimo S timepiece. This year around, the Maison continues this breakthrough by expanding its Octo Finissimo S line with the new Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT. This timepiece features an automatic in-house chronograph and GMT ultra-thin calibre BVL 318 with a peripheral rotor. Combining the sportiness of an outdoor watch with the complexity of a mechanical masterpiece, the new watch features a satin-polished steel case with a new blue sunray dial.

The signature octagonal case is 43mm wide and 8.75mm thick which is further complemented by an integrated vertical brushed steel bracelet. Further reaffirming its sporty aesthetic is the larger screw-down crown that ensures a water-resistance up to 100 meters.

2. Bvlgari Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon

Presenting Bvlgari's new Masterpiece of Sound is the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon. Created to elevate the level of sensorial expression, the timepiece features a three-hammer chime that is combined with a tourbillon regulator. Isn't that something?

Powered by the in-house brand new manually-wound Caliber BVL428 that is made of a total of 432 components, the new watch brings together a wonderful collision of Swiss watchmaking and and intangible emotion of music. Crafted in a 44mm black DLC coated titanium case whose generous proportions allows increased torque, each part of the watch is specifically designed to prioritise sound first.

From the hollowings within the case and the back to the chimes being fixed directly on to the casebody, the architecture of the timepiece brings home the theme of ensuring maximum functioning of the sound mechanism. Available in an ultra-limited edition of 15 pieces, the new Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon is an impeccable expression of the Masion's Sinfonia della Meccanica that is so worthy of a second glance.

3. Bvlgari LVCEA Intarsio Marquetry

Breathing new life into the Bvlgari LVCEA collection is the fresh, exciting, energising and artistic LVCEA Intarsio Marquetry timepieces featuring the LVCEA Skeleton available in two sizes – 28mm quartz movement model and a 33mm automatic movement model.

Both are available in a steel case strapped to a black or grey alligator strap. It features a grey mother-of-pearl dial that recalls the Roman sky in its blue and white pearlescence. What stands out is the way the dial of the watch is three-dimensional instead of being flat. This effect is achieved by assembling one mother-of-pearl sheet after another evoking the rays of the sun.
