Breitling launches the Superocean 44 Special

Known for their high performance diving instruments, Breitling released the Superocean 44 Special in two versions: black and blue.

Adding to the professional diving timepieces in their collection, the Superocean 44 Special comes in a steel case, and a rotating high-tech ceramic bezel which is ultra-hard and scratch-resistant: perfect for diving professionals.

The black or blue bezel matches the corresponding dial which is teamed with a satin-finished steel case. The strap comes in two variations: a steel bracelet and a black or blue rubber strap with a raised central motif, the Breitling signature, or a row of holes.

The timepiece is water-resistant to a depth of 1,000 meters, and includes a security valve which helps balance out the pressure difference encountered by the professionals. The indications are large and luminescent, and the hour-markers are present at five-minute intervals, quarters, and at the 12 o'clock position.

The heart of the instrument is a mechanical self-winding movement, the Breitling Caliber 17, certified by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres).
