Seiko celebrates Indian heritage with a new 5 Sports Limited Edition

With Republic Day approaching, Japanese watchmaker Seiko pays a tribute to India's rich and varied cultural legacy with the introduction of the “Made of Glory, the first-ever Seiko 5 Sports Limited Edition, made for India”. Seiko 5 Sports Ivory White Dial India Limited Edition - SRPK83K1

Two newly released stainless steel variations include an Indigo Blue (Ref. SRPK81K1) and an Ivory White (Ref. SRPK83K1) measuring 42.5mm, and feature an iconic uni-directional knurled bezel with Arabic markers and a triangle at 12 o’clock - it is also accentuated with the hues of the Indian tricolour i.e saffron, white, and green. The watches have a ratcheted crown with protectors at 3 o’clock. The dials of the timepieces are incorporated with a day-date window positioned at 3 o’clock.

Through the caseback one can see the manual winding automatic calibre 4R36, providing an autonomy of about 41 hours - the movement has a stop seconds hand function. Limited to 1200 pieces each, the watches are offered in a box engraved with the Ashoka Chakra. The watches are priced at Rs 32,000 and are already available at Seiko boutiques and online stores, and will be at multi-brand stores January 17 onwards.
