Founded in 2021, Toledano and Chan is a relatively new brand established by co-founders Alfred Chan, a watch designer, and Phillip Toledano, a visual artist and watch collector based in New York. The duo share a common love for Brutalist architecture.

Given this, the brand follows a Brutalist aesthetic in its timepieces. From case dimensions to the sapphire crystal and bracelet links, the design is seeped in Brutalism—the watches appear concrete-like, have a geometric, and feature a minimalistic, monochrome theme. The brand already has three timepieces, which are hugely popular and loved by watch enthusiasts for their asymmetric design and distinctiveness. Now, the brand has unveiled its fourth timepiece, the B/1.3r, which follows in the same design as its previous releases, albeit with a few updates. The watch’s width has been reduced from 33.5 mm to 32 mm, and given its titanium build, the watch is substantially lighter. Apart from its geometric shape, the spotlight is on its ripple textured 18-Karat gold dial that contrasts against its sharp edges.

In tune with its minimalism, are its functionalities – this time-only watch is powered by the automatic Sellita SW100 movement that boasts a 42-hours power reserve. The watch is a limited edition of 350 pieces.
