One of India’s leading retailers, Kapoor Watch Company, is currently hosting a week-long showcase of its brands, called Hours & Icons, at its flagship boutique in Delhi. And to start off the event, the retailer has unveiled the Franck Muller Vanguard ‘Ram Lalla’ Edition (Ref. V 41 SC 5N NR RAM LALLA), an India-inspired timepiece created exclusively for the retailer. It was launched by sitar exponent Rishab Rikhiram Sharma.
The new Franck Muller Vanguard ‘Ram Lalla’ Edition takes inspiration from the five-year-old childhood form of Lord Ram, the deity worshipped at the temple in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. A miniature representation of the deity has been created on the dial by engraving it using white gold appliqué, which took about 30 hours of laser processing, including the additional dial detailing. Furthermore, the dial of the watch is accentuated by hand-applied and hand-painted hour markers and skeleton hands.
The watch, which was two years in the making, is also representative of Franck Muller’s long-standing relationship with Kapoor Watch Company, which goes back nearly 30 years. It is also the second time that Franck Muller has created an India-exclusive timepiece with Kapoor Watch Company. The first one with the retailer was launched in 2022 on the occasion of Kapoor Watch Company’s 55th anniversary, and India’s 75th year of independence.
The timepiece follows the proportions of the Vanguard’s mid-size variant, and measures 41 mm x 49.95 mm. The three-dimensional curved case is crafted from 18-karat rose gold. Turn the watch over to see the closed caseback engraved with individual numbers—the watch is a limited edition of 108 pieces, paying tribute to the spiritual significance of the Hindu 108 bead prayer mala.

Just like the previous Vanguard editions, the watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement, beating at 4 Hz and boasting a power reserve of about 42 hours.
