It was 1980 when Hublot broke the conventional code and released a gold watch with a rubber strap. An unconventional approach at that time, the Hublot Classic Original made news as one of the first dress watches that broke all norms. Featuring a rubber strap on a gold case was unheard of before and it became an instant classic.

40 years later, Hublot releases the Classic Fusion 40 years Anniversary model available in three versions- 18k yellow gold, titanium and black ceramic. Straddling the past and the future, the timepiece is a perfect example of Hublot's historical legacy and its recent foray into the world of fusion.

The 2020 edition is deeply inspired by the 1980 Classic Original watch and lays a solid foundation of the brand's intention to be known as a Haute Horlogerie brand. “These Classic Fusion models embody 40 years packed with technological advances and breaking with convention. Crafted in a 45mm case, the new Classic Fusion models features 40 years of exploration and innovation. It houses a black lacquered and polished dial that is decorated with faceted hands, an applique Hublot and H logo. Classic and elegant, the timepiece includes the famous screws o the bezel and a sapphire crystal caseback.

What makes this such an innovative timepiece is the machine working within. Unlike the original which was powered by a quartz movement, the 2020 Hublot Classic Original features the HUB1112 automatic movement working within. This particular movement is based on the SW300-1 and is finished by Hublot and clocks in a power reserve of 42 hours. Sitting on a timeless easily adjustable rubber strap with a triple deployant clasp, the new edition offers a comfortable fit on the wrist.

The 2020 Hublot Classic Fusion 40 Years Anniversary is available in three versions -18k yellow gold, titanium and black ceramic. The models are limited to just 100 pieces in yellow gold and 200 in titanium and black ceramic.
