Watches & Wonders Shanghai: A. Lange & Söhne

Celebrating 175 years of precision watchmaking in Saxony, A. Lange & Söhne releases three exceptional models.

A. Lange & Söhne celebrates its 175th anniversary with a three new models that are a special dedication to Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who 175 years ago laid the foundation for Saxonian precision watchmaking by establishing his manufactory in Glashütte. These three limited edition timepieces belong to the exceptional and iconic 1815 watch family with the epithet ““Homage to F. A. Lange”.

Those three models are as the 175-piece 1815 THIN HONEYGOLD, one of the first watches from A. Lange & Söhne that focuses on chronograph and rattrapante – the 100-piece 1815 RATTRAPANTE HONEYGOLD  and pursuing its DNA of pushing the envelope a little further is the TOURBOGRAPH PERPETUAL HONEYGOLD. All of these timepieces are crafted in Lange-exclusive honey gold as well as special movement decorations and dials dedicated to Ferdinand Adolph Lange.

1815 THIN HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange”

Limited to just 175 years (a gentle nod to the brand's Anniversary year) the 815 THIN HONEYGOLD is a classic looking timepiece that packs in a whole lot of history with it. The simplistic design and classical appearance is reminiscent of the legendary pocket watches made by Ferdinand Adolph Lange. Crafted from Lange’s exclusive honey gold is the 38mm case and the two hands set against the backdrop of a white two-part enamel dial. The timepiece is powered by the L093.1 manufacture calibre with a power reserve of 72 hours. The watch is available in a hand-stitched dark brown leather strap that deserves a place on your wrist!

1815 RATTRAPANTE HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange”

Limited to just 100 watches, the 1815 RATTRAPANTE HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange” is the brand's first time putting the spotlight in the classic complications of timekeeping - chronograph and rattrapante. This is made possible with the help of the complex chronograph/rattrapante mechanism that is located on the movement side of the new L101.2 manually wound calibre that beats at the heart of the 1815 RATTRAPANTE HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange”. The watch features a case made from Lange’s exclusive honey gold and a black dial housing pink gold hands. It is strapped to a hand-stitched dark brown leather and is exclusively available in A. Lange & Söhne boutiques.

TOURBOGRAPH PERPETUAL HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange”

If you are ever wondering how A. Lange & Söhne has evolved in its watchmaking throughout its 175 year old history, then the TOURBOGRAPH PERPETUAL HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange” has got all the answers. First released in 2017 as the TOURBOGRAPH PERPETUAL “Pour le Mérite”, this time around, as a tribute to Ferdinand Adolph Lange, the Saxonian brand has released a limited special edition in honey gold with a black-rhodiumed dial made of the same material - TOURBOGRAPH PERPETUAL HONEYGOLD “Homage to F. A. Lange”.

This timepiece is a Grand Complication (to say the least) as, likes it predecessor, it features a combination of complications from a tourbillon, rattrapante chronograph, to a perpetual calendar with date, day, month and leap year and a moon phase display. The Lange manual-winding manufacture calibre L133.1 beating at the centre of the watch is made of a total of 684 parts and can store up to 36 hours of power reserve. The watch is available in a dark brown hand-stitched leather strap and is limited to just 50 pieces.
