If you are an F1 fan, then you'll know that the current season starts with the Bahrain Grand Prix in March, and ends with Abu Dhabi. But flagging off the season ahead of time is something else - a new watch by TAG Heuer, the Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Special Edition

To celebrate the alliance between TAG Heuer and Red Bull Racing, the Swiss watchmaker has released a brand-new version of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Special Edition. This outstanding new co-creation embodies the mutual values shared by TAG Heuer and the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team paying tribute to all Red Bull Racing fans.

Honouring this association, the new watch accentuates the bold colour of Red Bull Racing Team in all aspects like the dark blue and red tones. The new blue sun-brushed dial with customised minuterie yellow and red touches. The timepiece also features a 1/10th second chronograph at 6 o’clock with yellow and red detailing with the chronograph central second hand being highlighted in yellow, with a date window at 4 o’clock. Taking inspiration from the speedometer of an F1 car, the watch features Arabic numeral indexes. The dial, inspired by the chequered flag race is easy to read in all conditions and the look is completed with round pushers painted with red lacquer outline, highlighting the chronograph at 2 o’clock. The word ‘Speed’ on the bezel denotes what F1 truly stands for and 400 denotes the 400km/hr, a speed that was never touched in the history of the game. The watch also features ‘FORMULA 1’ engraved between 12 o’clock and the Tag Heuer logo.

The Tag Heuer F1 watch comes in two variants – a stainless steel bracelet (Ref. CAZ101AL.BA0842) and another with a blue rubber strap (Ref. CAZ101AL.FT8052), offering a combination of both being sporty and elegant. The caseback features “RED BULL RACING FORMULA ONE TEAM SPECIAL EDITION” with the logo of Red Bull and logo of Tag Heuer in a chequered flag. The 43mm watch is powered by quartz movement with a second indicator window at 3 o’clock and blue polished minute chronograph counter window at 9 o’clock. Both the stainless steel bracelet variant gets the steel folding clasp; double safety system with pilot extension and the rubber strap variant gets the steel pin buckle system with the dials made in fine-brushed steel, polished case, and aluminium blue tachymeter fixed bezel with a water resistance of 200 metres.
