Since its inception, Ressence has created timepieces featuring modern, exclusive dials that make time viewing an experience in its own. The year 2015 saw the launch of the Type 5 model, a 46mm titanium watch that was based on the partly oil-filled method used in the Type 3.

For the year 2022, Ressence has unveiled its new watch; the Type 8 in grade 5 titanium weighing just 42 gms. This is the first watch in ‘C’ segment which is futuristic, bold. The watch has joined the club of Type 2N.

Keeping the minimal and futuristic theme in mind, the 42.9mm watch has a polished grade 5 titanium case with domed sapphire crystal. The dial gets matt cobalt blue colour with a separate hours window from 8 o’clock to 9 o’clock where Ressence logo sits at 12 o’clock on the hours window. You will also notice that the watch doesn’t have any crown to wind up the date or time. So. The hours and minutes hands have got SuperLuminova to make time viewing super convenient under any conditions.

The main question, how does the wearer wind the time? Well, the answer lies in the caseback. The caseback in this watch also acts like a crown where the wearer can rotate it and set the time. Manual winding and setting time can be though bi-directional rotating caseback.

The titanium caseback gets eight visible screws and the engraving of ‘Ressence Type 8’. This basically implies that, the rotation of the caseback will automatically wind the mechanical movement. The watch has not no extra technology, no seconds hands, its a simple hour and minutes hands.

Powering the watch is the self winding calibre 2892/2 Ressence Orbital Convex System that delivers a power reserve of 36 hours and a 4Hz frequency. The platinum case gives this watch a water resistance of 10metres. Completing the overall look of the watch is a blue leather strap coupled with a polished ardillon buckle in grade 5 titanium.

The Type 8 watch will be available globally from 30th March 2022 via Ressence’s official retail network and viewers can experience this timepiece at Watches and Wonders, Geneva from March 30th to April 5th 2022.
