Laurent Ferrier unveils blue timepieces at watches and wonders 2022

Founded in 2009, Headquartered Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland, the independent watch making brand has been one of the most sought-after brands for collectors hs unveiled its new watches with blue dial at this year's Watches and Wonders.

Blue dial watches are not just trendsetters but they and should be placed in the same tandem as their black and other colour dials. Blue has been accepted by watchmakers for quite sometime now. Representing the water or sky, the colour is cool and calm.

A combination of a blue dial and a blue strap is one of the most sought-after combos in horology. At this year's Watches and Wonders, Geneva, Switzerland, Laurent Ferrier has released two timepieces - Classic Origin and Sport Auto. Let us look at the watches launched in detail.

Classic Origin

The watch Ref LCF036.TI.CG comes with a grade 5 titanium case and caseback. The gradient blue dial gets drop shaped hour markers in white gold with a seconds's sub-dial at 6 o'clock. Also coming in white gold are the assegai shaped hours and minutes hands as Laurent Ferrier logo sits at 12 o'clock.

The caseback gets the 'Laurent Ferrier' engraving with seven visible screws. The watch comes with a water resistance of 30metres. The watch is finished on a midnight blue nubuck leather with alcantara lining with a grade 5 titanium pin buckle system. Powering the watch is a LF116.01 manual winding movement with 80 hours of power reserve, 3Hz frequency.

Sport Auto

Cars and watches have so many things in common - from attention to detail, engineering, a story to tell anbd race cars hold a very special place for watches too. The 41.5mm watch Ref LCF.040.T1.C1GC5 in grade 5 titanium is sporty, but also minimal in design. The hours and minutes hands get assegai shaped while seconds hands is batin shaped. The dial comes with a gradient blue finish, drop shaped hour markers with super-luminova, a small seconds window at 6 o'clock, and a date window at 3 o'clock. The watch gets a water resistance of 120metres.

Turning towards the sapphire caseback reveals the visiblke movement with four visible screws. Powering the watch is the self winding LF.270.01 calibre with 72 hours of power reserve, 4Hz frequency. Completing the overall look of the watch is the integrated bracelet with three links in grade 5 titanium and also a grade 5 folding clasp system.
