Watches and Wonders 2023: Jaeger-LeCoultre further strengthens the iconic Reverso

Swiss luxury watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces new models for men and women as part of the Reverso series.
Watches and Wonders 2023 has been privy to some of the most extraordinary timepieces. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso series is definitely one of them.

The Reverso Tribute Chronograph
Paying homage to the origins of the Reverso, the new Reverso Tribute Chronograph by Jaeger-LeCoultre reveals the quintessential sporting complication – the chronograph. The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 860 is a hand-wound chronograph movement and offers a 52-hour power reserve. The front dial of the watch features the baton hour markers, Dauphine hands, and a peripheral chemin de fer minutes track – all characteristic of the Reverso Tribute range.

Available in both steel and pink gold, the new chronograph by the Swiss luxury watch brand comes with dark blue and black canvas-and-leather and all-leather straps respectively, designed by Argentinian polo bootmaker Casa Fagliano. The steel version encases a blue-grey dial while the pure black dial offers a stunning contrast to the pink gold case.

The “back” of the Reverso Tribute Chronograph reveals the skeletonized chronograph mechanism with the chronograph seconds and minute tracks in black. The dial is entirely skeletonized with the bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève and the chronograph seconds and minute tracks highlighted in black. The second time display floats above the movement with faceted baton indexes and chemin de fer minutes track.

The Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon
Inspired by the first Reverso Tourbillon revealed thirty years ago, the new Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon in pink gold displays two dials with a second-time zone and a day-night indicator on the reverse dial. Equipped with the Calibre 847, the ultra-thin hand-wound movement unites the flying tourbillon with the Duoface complication via a patented unique S-shaped balance spring that has one end attached to a fixed point at the center of the tourbillon mechanism and the other end fixed to the balance wheel. The S-shape avoids the coils of the spring from touching each other making the spring perfectly concentric to the tourbillon.

The front dial of the Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon features understated faceted hour indexes complemented by Dauphine hands and framed by a chemin de fer minute track. The silver sunray-brushed front dial puts the tourbillon up front and center. The reverse dial reveals a bolder black dial accentuated by the partial skeletonization and hanging bridges. The second time zone is indicated by golden hands and indexes with the night and day indicator set against a starry night sky.

Reverso Tribute Small Seconds
Jaeger-LeCoultre reveals new variations of the iconic Reverso Tribute Small Seconds housed in an ultra-thin pink gold case.
The Swiss luxury watch brand continues its affair with colours to introduce the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds in four different sunray-brushed dials:
- Black dial in a pink gold case, inspired by the black dials of the original 1931 Reverso
- Burgundy lacquer dial in a pink gold case
- Silver dial in a pink gold case
- Silver opaline dial in a stainless steel case
The black and burgundy dials are complemented by two Fagliano Collection straps: the signature canvas-and-calf combination and the other in all calf. The silver dial is paired with a Fagliano Collection canvas-and-calf strap and an additional black alligator strap.

Each model features applied indexes for the hours instead of numerals. The 12 is marked by a double index. The faceted shape echoes the form of Dauphine hands while the lower part of the dial displays the small seconds circular track. The reverse is a solid metal back that is ideal for personalization.
The Reverso Tribute Small Seconds comes equipped with the manually wound mechanical movement, Calibre 822 offering a power reserve of 42 hours.

Reverso One Precious Colours
Jaeger-LeCoultre revives the art deco spirit of the Reverso with the Reverso One Precious Colours models available in two striking hues: shades of blue with black on a pink gold background and tones of green on a white gold background.

The front white mother-of-pearl dial of the Reverso One Precious Colours is detailed with narrow gold brackets in each corner and the applied numerals and Dauphine hands. The pattern on the dial is executed in miniature-painted grand feu enamel with diamond-set accents.
The back of the dial reinterprets the Reverso One Precious Colours model as a piece of High Jewellery with a miniature-painted grand few enamel pattern with diamond-set accents.
The timepieces are powered by the hand-wound Calibre 846 which brings a power reserve of 38 hours.  The two variations come with alligator leather strap options: blue for the pink gold model and green for the white gold piece.

Reverso Secret Necklace
Blending the art of horology and jewellery, Jaeger-LeCoultre marries the two in a creative and aesthetic commitment with the new Reverso Secret Necklace High Jewellery piece.
The novelty suspends from a cordonnet, a reinterpretation of the original black textile bracelet from the Reverso of the 30s, that displays intricate diamond links and polished onyx beads.

Worn with the case back as the front, the "face dial" offers potential for customized decoration with gem-setting, enamelling, or engraving. The original front of the dial reveals an upside-down dial in a pink gold case set with white diamonds and black onyx. The convex sides of the case are covered with vertical rows of grain-set diamonds. The Reverso Secret Necklace includes over 3,000 diamonds of ~18 carats.
The case conceals the Calibre 846 manually-wound movement offering a 38 power reserve.

Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179
The coveted Reverso collection welcomes the new Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 to the family with its multi-axis tourbillon - the fourth evolution of the complication. The Duoface movement displays a different timezone on each dial as well as a 24-hour indicator for the second timezone on the reverse dial.

The Gyrotourbillon comprises one ultra-light titanium case and a peripheral carriage mounted on ball bearings. The inner tourbillon cage rotates 360 degrees every 16 seconds and the peripheral carriage makes a full rotation once per minute and provides a small seconds function. The tourbillon is supported by a ring of ball bearings giving the impression of floating in space between the front and the back dials of the Reverso.
The pink gold case brings with it a dark blue lacquer set of dials with the front dial offering Art Deco geometric patterns made using a fine lattice of golden lines while the back dial traces the skeletonized hours-minutes ring and its supporting bridges. This highlights the airy aesthetic of the novelty, marrying tradition with technology.
Limited to 10 exceptional pieces, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 comes with a dark blue alligator leather strap.
