TAG Heuer introduces the new Carrera Chronograph in gold

The 60th anniversary of TAG Heuer Carrera culminates with a gold masterpiece which salutes the spirit of legendary drivers
TAG Heuer Carrera has been serving as a connecting bridge between the cars, drivers, and motor racing since it was first launched at the Basel Fair in 1963. The timepiece truly evokes the passion for racing for the enthusiasts. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the watch, and the brand has been celebrating it with versions of Carrera Chronograph since the beginning of the year. The brand has now unveiled a new vintage inspired TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph that pays tribute to the passion of legendary drivers who have been extraordinary on the race-track.

The new 39mm, 18K 3N yellow gold-plated fine brushed and polished model is evident of the retro charm when Jack Heuer decided to reward the racers with gold timepieces, which led the brand to create a stronger bond with motor sport racing. Legendary racers like Ronnie Paterson and Niki Lauda graced their wrist with these watches.

Topped with a glassbox domed sapphire crystal the latest Ref. CBS2240.FC8319 picks up its round case, lugs and the pushers design from its predecessor; it is incorporated with enhanced black “azuré” hour and minute chronograph counters at 9 o’clock 3 o’clock. There is a 18K 3N yellow gold-plated permanent second indicator just above the date window sitting at 6 o’clock, 18K 3N yellow gold-plated faceted, polished hour and minute hands with white Super- LumiNova®, and a contrasting black lacquered central hand.

Driving the timepiece is an in-house automatic Calibre TH20-00 boasting a power reserve of about 80 hours. A black perforated calfskin leather strap compliments the case with a fine brushed, polished 18K 3N yellow gold pin buckle. The timepiece is water resistant up to 100 metres.
