The Diva’s Dream Peacock collection was first introduced by Bulgari in 2017, and brought together the world’s of craftsmanship, and horological complications. Now at Dubai Watch Week 2023, the brand has revealed three new opulent iterations - Divas’ Dream Peacock Feather Marquetry (Ref. 103767), Divas’ Dream Peacock Mother-of-Pearl Marquetry (Ref. 103769), and Divas’ Dream Peacock Precious Marquetry Jumping hours and Retrograde Minutes (Ref. 103784), all crafted in 18K rose gold.
Divas’ Dream Peacock Feather Marquetry (Ref. 103767)
Paying homage to the natural plumage of the resplendent bird, the 33mm timepiece features 12 naturally shed feathers on the dial — the feathers are selected by an ancient technique known to be applied in Renaissance Italy, rediscovered by Bulgari in the 1970s. After passing through an antique brass steam machine, each feather is cut, assembled, and glued to make the dial. The watch is set with 76 diamonds (~ 1.20 ct), of which 48 round brilliant-cut diamonds are on the bezel and 28 diamonds adorn the fan-shaped lugs; there is also a crown with a cabochon-cut sapphire. Further the dial incorporates gilded hour and minute hands. The quartz watch is complemented by a green alligator strap with rose gold pin buckle set with diamonds.
Divas’ Dream Peacock Mother-of-Pearl Marquetry
This 33mm timepiece is set with 82 diamonds distributed between bezel, lugs, a cabochon-cut pink rubellite crown, and hour markers. The white mother-of-pearl dial with shades of blue features a rose gold outlined peacock silhouette, fan-shaped feathers on the lower dial, a tuft of its head, and a beak. The quartz watch is fitted with a blue alligator leather strap with rose gold pin buckle set with diamonds.
Divas’ Dream Peacock Precious Marquetry Jumping hours and Retrograde Minutes (Ref.103784)
It is the most opulent timepiece among the latest released timepieces with snow-set diamonds, aventurine, and malachite on the dial, inspired by the mosaics of the Roman Baths of Caracalla - the malachite resembles the peacock's regal attire and ancient Rome connection, and the aventurine glass signifies the mastery of Italian craftsmen. There are tsavorites on the cabochon-cut crown of the watch, and an emerald gracing the bird's eye on the dial. The studded dial features gilded Arabic numerals, retrograde minutes, and a jumping hour window positioned at 12 o’clock. A year in development, the timepiece is powered by the automatic calibre BVL 262, beating at a frequency of 4Hz and offering a power reserve of about 42 hours. A green alligator strap with rose gold folding buckle set with diamonds flanks the case of the timepiece.
Both the quartz pieces are water resistant up to 30 metres, while the automatic one is water resistant up to 50 metres.
