Omega first launched the Railmaster in 1957 as part of the emblematic trilogy of professional watches. The watches included in this trilogy were the brand's first Speedmaster CK2915 for racing cars, Seamaster 300 CK2913 for ocean divers, and the Railmaster CK2914 for scientists and railway staff. The Railmaster stood out for featuring an inner protective case, which ensured that the watch could resist magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss. After being discontinued in the 1960s, relaunched in 2003, updated in 2017, and now being unveiled in its most modern design, the latest versions of the Railmaster are both 38mm - the first comes with central seconds (Ref. 235.10.38.20.06.001) and the other has a small seconds subdial (Ref. 235.10.38.20.13.001).
Omega Railmaster Ref. 235.10.38.20.13.001The aesthetics, like the symmetrical cases and linked bracelet style, of the new models are aligned with the brand’s Seamaster Aqua Terra collection to maintain the harmony between the families. The brand has been doing this for Railmaster models since the relaunch happened in 2003.
Omega Railmaster Ref. 235.10.38.20.06.001Both steel versions are kept minimal and close to the original model. Ref. 235.10.38.20.06.001 features a grey dial with a black gradient, while Ref. 235.10.38.20.13.001 features a beige dial with a black gradient. There are numerals and large hour markers coated with white and vintage Super-LumiNova, respectively. The major difference you will notice is the presence of a subdial at 6 o’clock in the beige dial model. And, because of the subdial, the placement of Omega and the Railmaster logo is positioned at 12 o’clock in the model.
The METAS-certified Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 in the grey model and Calibre 8804 in the beige model are visible through the open caseback. This time, the movement is 15 times more resistant than the original Railmaster model and the watches can withstand magnetism up to 15,000 gauss.
Completing the watches are either the improved and redesigned links bracelet or the black and golden brown straps.
Prices: Grey dial version on bracelet is for ₹5,66,400, while the beige dial version on bracelet is for ₹6,25,400.
