April is officially the season of watches, this time, leading brands showcase the best of their innovations, technical mastery, and expressions of high horology. While many brands debut their latest creations at Watches and Wonders Geneva, held at Palexpo, Franck Muller continues to chart its own course with exclusive releases at World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie (WPHH).
The brand's latest releases include new interpretations in the Vanguard collection, refined Cintrée Curvex models, skeletonized pieces, as well as high jewelry watches. Amongst the slew of watches released by the brand, here’s our top picks….
Franck Muller Vanguard Aero Revolution 3 Skeleton
The new Vanguard Aero Revolution 3 Skeleton is crafted in rose gold. The highlight of the watch is its tri-axial tourbillon, located at 6 o’clock, fitted inside a 43.90 mm signature tonneau case which has been opened on all four sides for maximum visibility. The tourbillon is composed of three concentric cages—the inner cage completes a full rotation in 60 seconds, the intermediate cage in eight minutes, and the outer cage in one hour.
One can see the brand’s in-house automatic Calibre MVT 2031-VS beating inside, and boasting a 10-day power reserve. A first for the brand, the movement is directly mounted onto the caseback. The skeleton dial also features an open time subdial with minute and hour hands. An integrated black strap completes the watch.
Franck Muller Curvex CX Master Jumper
The brand takes jumping hour complication to the next level with the new Curvex CX Master Jumper (Re. CX 38 MJ SQT TTNRBR 5NBR)—it features triple jumping complication, all three aligned vertically on the skeletonized dial. First, the hours at 12 o’clock, then minutes at the centre, and date at 6 o’clock. Crafted in titanium, the case seamlessly extends to join the strap. The watch is equipped with an in-house MVT 3100-CS1 movement.
Franck Muller Imperium
With the new Imperium (Ref. RIO 40 SC DT ACBR ACBR O), the brand introduces a new silhouette for the brand—it somehow resembles the brand’s signature tonneau shape but is more sleek and structural. Other than the case, its lozenge-patterned guilloché dial with expressive Arabic numerals and a date window at 6 highlights the watch.
It’s a stainless steel watch completed with a stainless steel bracelet.
Franck Muller Round Triple Mystery Skeleton
The new Round Triple Mystery Skeleton (Ref. 7036TMSQDT1R) grabs attention with its floating dial, which features three rotating discs displaying hour, minutes, and seconds—The first and the smallest disc shows seconds, the middle discs indicate hours, and the last disc tells minutes.
It's an 18-karat rose gold watch with a bezel accentuated with diamonds. The brand’s automatic movement MVD 2800-TM, powers the watch. A white leather strap flanks the case. The same movement powers the new Round Rainbow Triple Mystery (Ref. 7036 TM RB 1R CRB) —as the name suggests, this iteration is decorated with colourful gemstones.
Franck Muller Vanguard Sfumato Slim Tourbillon
As the name of the watch suggests, the new Vanguard Sfumato Slim Tourbillon features an ultra-thin case of 9.1 mm. Other than that, the rose gold case, measuring 41 mm x 49.95 mm, retains the signature case shape. The watch features a minimal fume dial with rose gold hour markers and a tourbillon at 6 o’clock—its tourbillon cage is designed using the brand’s initials ‘FM’.
An in-hour movement MVT FM 2070T-VS1 powers the watch and an integrated blue strap completes it.
