Recently we saw a Rolex on actor Priyanka Chopra’s wrist when she posted an Instagram story a few weeks ago. Speculations gathered steam with an international magazine story that went live last week, and here we are - PC is now a Rolex testimonee, the confirmation coming by way of the actor now featuring prominently on the brand’s website under the ‘Rolex Family’ section.
Rolex testimonees span arts and culture, sports, exploration and more, and Priyanka now follows in the footsteps of global names like Leonardo di Caprio, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and more. Other Indian testimonees include golfers Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri, and tennis player Vijay Amritraj.
Chopra was chosen for her body of work as an actor and producer, and for her humanitarian work with UNICEF for over 15 years. The other reason this appointment is key is because Priyanka, till recently, was a Global Brand Ambassador for luxury house Bvlgari, promoting both watches and jewellery there. A move to another watch brand, Rolex no less, in quick succession is not often seen in the watch industry. Not just that, it is being reported that Priyanka will retain her role at Bvlgari in the capacity of being an ambassador for jewellery and accessories. Bvlgari watches and Rolex function in the same sphere of high-end luxury watches and being a part of two maisons at the same time, is nothing less than a coup.
