Known for its avant-garde and futuristic timepieces, independent Swiss luxury watch brand Urwerk expands its UR-150 collection with the new UR-150 Golden Scorpion. Limited to 25 pieces, the watch follows the same design aesthetic as the line’s previous iterations.
The brand describes the latest watch as “Less armour, more sculpture; more precious object than machine,’ on the press note, which is true to its sculptural design, which is now enhanced by the introduction of 2N yellow gold case, crown, and case middle. The watch features the signature dial design. There’s satellite hours, retrograde minutes marked on the 240 degree arc, which goes from 60 to zero in just 1/100th of a second.
What interests me in a watch is not only what it indicates, but what it provokes,” says Felix Baumgartner, master watchmaker and Co-founder, Urwerk . “A true creation must have presence, energy and almost a character of its own. That is exactly what the Golden Scorpion possesses,” he adds.
Turn the watch over to see the Grade 5 titanium caseback in black PVD, encasing the automatic Calibre UR-50.01, which is regulated by a double-turbine system. The movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of 43 hours.
Measuring 42.5 mm, the 2N yellow gold case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal. The watch is water resistant to 50 metres and is complemented with an adjustable high-performance hybrid rubber strap with folding clasp.
