For Geneva Watch Days 2026, Zenith is extending the Chronomaster collection in a new direction with the Chronomaster Solo Sport, a three-hand watch that places the focus on the high-frequency character of the El Primero movement. The new model removes the chronograph display while retaining the 5 Hz architecture that has defined the El Primero since its introduction in 1969.
The watch features a 40 mm stainless steel case, combining a relatively compact diameter with a ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel. Dynamic crown protectors frame the screw-down crown, while the case provides 20 ATM of water resistance. The design sits between traditional sports-watch construction and the more versatile proportions expected from an everyday timepiece.
At the centre of the Chronomaster Solo Sport is the El Primero 3620 automatic manufacture calibre, derived from the El Primero 3600 chronograph movement. The movement retains the high-frequency architecture associated with the El Primero. It features a silicon escapement, stop-second mechanism and bi-directional winding system, along with a newly designed openworked oscillating weight shaped around the Zenith star. It runs the watch for 60-hours in one go.
The dial is developed specifically for the Chronomaster Solo Sport, the ceramic dial features a repeated 45-degree Z motif. The pattern is intended to evoke the rhythm and vibration of the movement, translating the idea of high frequency into the watch's visual design. Three versions feature either a sunray-finished white ceramic dial or polished black and brown ceramic dials. Each is paired with a matching ceramic bezel, creating three distinct executions of the same design language. The black version is also available without a date, offering a cleaner dial layout.
Another detail connecting the Solo Sport to Zenith's historical designs is the "shark tooth" minute track around the perimeter. Faceted applied hour markers and hands, all coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1, complete the dial.
It is fitted with a three-link stainless steel bracelet and Zenith's Zenclasp folding clasp, that incorporates a tool-free micro-adjustment system and allows the bracelet to be resized in 2.5 mm increments, with a total extension range of 10 mm.
The Chronomaster Solo Sport is available in four references: The white-dial version with a black ceramic bezel and the black-dial version are both priced at CHF 9,900, as is the brown-dial model with its brown ceramic bezel. The black no-date version is priced at CHF 8,900.
