Launched in 2005, Hublot’s Big Bang collection is a defining expression of the brand’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy. And the brand keeps pushing the collection forward by experimenting with new materials, colours, complications, and design combinations, while retaining the same bold character that has defined the collection since its inception.
This Geneva Watch Days, the brand has further expanded the Big Bang line with two new creations — Big Bang Original Soft Touch All Red (Ref. 431.RXR.2770.RX.VEL) and Big Bang Original Soft Touch All Black (Ref. 431.RXN.2740.RX.VEL), bringing a new tactile dimension to the collection.
While the silhouette of these chronograph watches remains the same, they debut with a textured rubber compound applied across the case, bezel, crown, strap, and dial, giving the watches a tactile dimension. Developed through an overmoulding process, this rubber compound is made using specially engineered tooling that integrates the texture directly into the material during production. Unlike a coating or surface treatment, the texture becomes an intrinsic part of the construction, creating a velvet effect and a remarkably soft feel.
Measuring 43 mm, the watches feature matching-colour dials displaying Roman numerals and hour markers, a date window at 4:30, an elapsed-minutes counter at 3 o’clock, and a small-seconds counter at 9 o’clock.
Powering both iterations is the brand’s HUB1280 Unico Manufacture movement, which boasts a power reserve of about 72 hours.
