IRONMAN Ft. Breitling

Breitling announced their latest partnership with the Wanda Sports Group company IRONMAN with a new limited edition timepiece.

No, not Rober Downey Jr. The IRONMAN here refers to the triathlon series which athletes participate in to push their fitness boundaries to the next level. Premium Swiss watch brand, Breitling recently announced their collaboration with the sporting event with the launch of the new Breitling Superocean IRONMAN limited edition timepiece – a befitting unveil as the event's Official Luxury Watch.

A Wanda Sports Group company, IRONMAN comprises of three main activities - swimming for 2.4 miles (3.8 kilometers), cycling for 112 miles (180 kilometers), and running for 26.2 miles (42.2 kilometers) – whilst en route to completing one of the world’s most challenging single-day endurance races. “The three members of our Triathlon Squad have all distinguished themselves in IRONMAN® events”, says Geroges Kern, CEO Breitling. “Jan Frodeno won back-to-back IRONMAN® World Championships in 2015 and 2016, and Chris ‘Macca’ McCormack has also claimed two titles – in 2007 and 2010. It goes without saying that Daniela Ryf’s accomplishments have been spectacular: she is the reigning IRONMAN® World Champion, having won four straight titles along with her four IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championships in the last five years. The sport has enjoyed enormous popularity and the performance and endurance of its great competitors reflect Breitling’s values perfectly.”

The new special edition by the brand hails from the Superocean series. The 44mm stainless steel watch features a black dial with the IRONMAN logo on it. Limited to 300 pieces, the Breitling Superocean Automatic 44 IRONMAN® comes equipped with the self-winding COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 17 offering a power reserve of 38 hours. It is water-resistant to 100 meters and comes on a red Diver Pro III rubber strap.
