Getting Intimate with Bulgari

Getting Intimate with Bulgari

A close-up of the art of fine watchmaking as done at the Bulgari Manufacture. Practicing vertical integration, Bulgari handles the end-to-end development of its exquisite pieces through four production sites spread over the Jura mountains.

The case making for Bulgari takes place at the Saignelegier site, especially for the gold and steel cases and bracelets.

The jewelled elements of each piece are crafted in the Bulgari Jewellery manufacture in Valenza or in the High Jewellery workshop in Rome.

Expert goldsmiths clean, assemble and finish all the metal elements, giving shape to the actual watch element: bracelets and stone-set cases.

The type of production carried out here is the traditional lost-wax casting technique.

The watch element itself is assembled in Neuchatel where the movement is encased and the final quality control is carried out.

The assembly of the movement is divided in to two different locations: Le Sentier for the Grande Complication and ultra-thin Finissimo movements and Le Sentier for the proudction and assembly of the Solotempo calibre.
