Tissot reveals a new PR516 in both mechanical and quartz versions

The new additions include one 41mm mechanical and three 40mm quartz references
Tissot has unveiled its new PR516 collection, where PR stands for “Particularly Robust” or “Precision and Resistance” and 516 means 16th model in the 5th (water-resistant) series. There are four timepieces introduced in the line - one a 41mm mechanical watch, and three 40mm quartz references. The new watches are a revised edition of one of the brand’s most appreciated 1970s sporty models.

The similarities among the latest Tissot PR516 Mechanical Chronograph (Ref. T149.459.21.051.00) and three Tissot PR516 Chronographs—Ref. T149.417.11.051.00, Ref. T149.417.11.041.00, and Ref. T149.417.22.051.00, are their mineral bezel rings with tachymeter and pulsometer scales, and Super-LumiNova coated baton hour markers and hands. All the novelties are water resistant up to 100 metres.

The mechanical piece is crafted in 316L stainless steel with black PVD coating. Its black dial entails a central 60-seconds chronograph hand, 30-minutes at 3 o’clock and 12-hours counter at 6 o’clock, along with orange and sky-blue accents. The exhibition caseback of the watch reveals the Swiss manual-winding movement, boasting a power reserve of about 60 hours. An interchangeable stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp, safety, and push-buttons flanks the case.

There are three 40mm models crafted in stainless steel, two with black dial and one with blue dial (Ref. T149.417.11.041.00). The counters on their dials have been moved up slightly compared to the mechanical model—a 30-minute counter at 10 o’clock, 60-second counter at 6 o’clock, and 12-hour counter at 2 o’clock. Distinctively, the Ref. T149.417.22.051.00 also has yellow gold PVD coating, appearing as an accent on the bezel lining, hands and hours markers, and middle links on the bracelet.
All the quartz references are powered by Swiss quartz battery type Renata 394. The caseback of the models features laurel wreath and steering wheel engravings.

The price for mechanical reference is Rs. 1,65,000. While the quartz references are priced at Rs. 46,000 and 50,500 for Ref. T149.417.22.051.00.
