Watches and Wonder 2024: Laurent Ferrier reveals the brand’s first moonphase complication

The new Classic Moon timepieces by the brand features an annual calendar and a moonphase
For Watches and Wonders 2024, Laurent Ferrier introduces the moonphase complication to its  timepiece for the first time. The new Classic Moon references joins the brand’s Classic collection and features the brand’s signature smooth curved cases.

Classic Moon Blue

The Laurent Ferrier Classic Moon comes in a balanced 40mm polished stainless steel or 18-carat red gold case featuring curved lugs, bezel, and a ball-shaped crown. The timepiece is available in two variations - one is Classic Moon Silver and the other is Classic Moon Blue. Both the iterations feature  a chemin de fer minute track,  31 date numerals in a classic font on the dial periphery, which is set via the a corrector on case located at 10 o’clock, Roman and baton hour markers, and slender ruthenium-treated white gold versions of the Assegai-shaped hands.

There are two beveled windows below 12 o’clock for weekdays and month at left and right respectively. The highlight of the dial and the brand’s debuting complication - the moonphase indication, designed in Aventurine glass and a translucent enamel, is located at 6 o'clock, inside the slightly expanded small seconds display. The moonphase is adjusted via a discreet flush fitted corrector on the case between 8 and 9 o’clock.

Powering the timepieces is the new redesigned automatic calibre LF126.02, which is inspired by the brand’s previous annual calendar movement LF126.01. The new calibre boasts a power reserve of about 80-hours—the power reserve can be seen via the caseback. The Classic Moon Blue model is finished with a hand-sewn gray Nubuck leather with stainless steel pin buckle, while the Classic Moon Silver is completed with a brown calf leather with 18K/750 5N red gold pin buckle.
