Small Wonder: With a new dimension and movements, the new Aqua Terra 30mm is expanding the horizons of the Omega Seamaster line

And there is a substantial selection to choose from

When Omega launched the Aqua Terra line in 2002, it did so in four sizes. There was 41 mm, 38 mm, 36 mm, and 28 mm. While the conversation around genderless watches was moot back then, what’s certain is that even 20 years ago, Omega was clear that the Aqua Terra line needed to have representation for women. It was positioned as a sporty watch that had its roots in diving, yet was perfect for everyday elegance. Robust enough for aquatic adventures, and stylish enough for the urban lifestyle. This dual nature is something that reflects in its name as well - Aqua Terra means ‘Water Earth’ in Latin. Since its launch, the watches have focused on a versatile aesthetic, featuring clean lines and symmetrical cases, with variants with the teak deck pattern on the dial being hugely popular.

And their commitment to women’s iterations continues. This year, Omega introduced a fresh take on the Seamaster Aqua Terra with a new 30 mm size. Released in 12 variations, the line offers wearers the option to choose the shade and metal combinations that best reflect their personal style. And with them also debut two new Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer movements, Calibre 8750 and 8751.

The watch is crafted in stainless steel and 18K Moonshine™ Gold

This significant release was brought to life through the campaign ‘My Little Secret’, featuring six leading women - model, entrepreneur, and advocate Ashley Graham; recording artist Danielle Marsh; singer and song-writer Tems; actors Ariana DeBose and Marisa Abela; and model Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. The campaign revolves around the idea “Some things are simply too beautiful to keep hidden.” It's something our Digital Cover watch, Seamaster Aqua Terra 150mm (Ref. 220.20.30.20.02.001) echoes as well.

The watch features boat-shaped hour markers accented with Moonshine™ Gold

This specific iteration stands out for its stainless steel and 18K Moonshine™ Gold combination. While the steel gives it a robust edge, the Moonshine™ Gold on the bezel, crown, and central bracelet links brings elegance. The metals are paired with a subtle silvered dial with sunray finish, on which feature boat-shaped hour markers, also accented with Moonshine™ Gold. The shape of the hour markers is not common to the line, which typically sees triangular hour markers. This particular design was seen in the 2023 Summer Blue edition (Ref. 220.10.41.21.03.005) released to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster line, and has now been used in the new 30 mm models to bring a more feminine touch.

The subtle silvered dial with sunray finish

Further elevating the dial is a distinct round date window at 6 o’clock, also lined with Moonshine™ Gold. Just below the 12 o’clock position rests the Omega logo with the brand name and ‘Seamaster’ inscribed below it. The Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement marks its presence above the date window. There are 18K yellow gold hands, and the hour markers and hands feature white Super-LumiNova that emits a blue glow.

The 18K Moonshine™ Gold crown

While the aesthetics of the watch are impressive, it’s the refined proportions that truly set it apart. The 30 mm case is perfect for women with smaller wrists, and an ideal choice for those who prefer a more compact timepiece. Adding to its elegance is the slim profile, which is just 10.55 mm thick.

Moreover, the three-link integrated bracelet, with brushed and polished stainless steel side links, is both ergonomic and stylish. It comes equipped with a butterfly clasp with a comfort setting for a secure fit. Weighing only 90 grams (including the bracelet), the watch offers a lightweight and comfortable wearing experience. For added versatility, it is also available with various leather strap options, allowing you to effortlessly switch between a dressy or sporty style.

The Omega 8750 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre visible through caseback

Turning the watch over reveals an exhibition caseback showing the beautifully decorated new Omega 8750 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre with silicon balance spring for superior anti-magnetism up to 15,000 gauss, and highest standard of precision. Certified Master Chronometers by METAS, the movement is also incorporated with the brand’s advanced Co-Axial escapement. The automatic movement beats at 3.5 Hz frequency and boasts a power reserve of about 48 hours. Featuring bi-directional winding, its rhodium-plated stainless steel rotor is decorated with arabesque Geneva waves.

OMEGA 8751 Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre

The other calibre introduced in the line, 8751, has the same capabilities as the 8750, though it features a solid gold rotor. Overall, the 8751 is also slightly thicker, measuring 4.08 mm against the 3.98 mm of the 8750. While Calibre 8750 beats inside all the stainless steel and two-tone iterations, the 8751 powers the all-gold versions.

More iterations of the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M

The other iterations the brand has launched include five watches in stainless steel featuring dials in black (Ref. 220.10.30.20.01.001), blue (Ref. 220.10.30.20.03.001), silver (Ref. 220.10.30.20.02.001), lavender (Ref. 220.10.30.20.10.002), and grey with a diamond-set bezel and hour markers (Ref. 220.15.30.20.56.001). Three watches come in 18K Moonshine™ Gold, with a Moonshine™ Gold dial (Ref. 220.50.30.20.08.001), another with a pearled white mother-of-pearl dial (Ref. 220.55.30.20.55.001), and a green dial (Ref. 220.55.30.20.60.001) – the last two feature diamonds on the bezel and hour markers. Then there is the iteration in 18K Sedna™ Gold with a linen dial (Ref. 220.50.30.20.09.001). Another dual-toned model is in stainless steel and 18K Moonshine™ Gold, with white mother-of-pearl-dial (Ref. 220.25.30.20.55.001) featuring a diamond-set bezel and hour markers. And the last comes in a combination of stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ Gold (Ref. 220.20.30.20.63.001) featuring a brown dial and diamond hour markers.

Currently, the brand’s Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M 41 mm (Ref. 220.10.41.21.03.006) is also getting traction for its cool and vibrant lacquered turquoise and black fume effect dial, inspired by the colour of the ocean. While the dial grabs attention with its fresh turquoise colour, details like the grey PVD-treated hour markers and hands, provide a strong contrast and talking points. Worn on a three link stainless steel bracelet, the watch is powered by the automatic movement Omega 8900, boasting a 60 hour power reserve.

With the Aqua Terra line debuting 30mm iterations as well as turquoise dial colour, Omega is focusing on bold design choices. The brand is undoubtedly upping the ante of the Aqua Terra collection while proving that evolution and elegance can go hand in hand.
