When it comes to revolutionary technology and design concept, the A. Lange & Söhne ZEITWERK collection has been in the forefront since 2009. With the launch of the ZEITWERK Honeygold “Lumen”, the German luxury watch brand not only introduces its proprietary Honey Gold but also features their specially developed, semi-transparent dial that makes the luminous jumping numerals display fully visible.
Add to this its limited edition category (the model is limited to just 200 pieces) and this particular watch from A. Lange & Söhne is all set to be unique in three different ways. Apart from these massive features the watch houses, the timepiece also marks a new dawn for the brand with its newly developed manufacture calibre – the L043.9 that clocks in a power reserve of 72 hours.
When it comes to the details of the watch, there is much to be seen. Like all ZEITWERK models, it features the signature three-disc jumping numerals mechanism that indicates time in a digital format. In addition to two discs for the tens and units-minutes, the jumping numerals mechanism is endowed with a large hour ring that spans almost the entire diameter of the movement.
There is a new entry of a pusher at 4 o' clock that allows the hour indication to be switched separately making it simple to set the time. All of these are set on a 41mm HONEYGOLD case that houses a dark sapphire crystal dial. Working within the dial is the he calibre L043.9 which is pegged as the second generation of a mechanical masterpiece. With this new movement, all you need is a gently click to instantly switch the numerals display of the timepieces from one minute to the next until at the top of the hour, the sophisticated mechanism simultaneously switches all three numerals discs by one increment.
Strapped to a hand-stitched dark brown leather strap, the ZEITWERK HONEYGOLD “Lumen” is a masterpiece in all sense of the word.
