TAG Heuer presents novelties for Watches and Wonders 2022

TAG Heuer presents at the Watches and Wonders 2022 a range of technically sound and visually appealing pieces - the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph, TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver, the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition, the TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition, and the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver.

TAG Heuer presented a range of new watches at the Watches and Wonders 2022 event happening in Geneva, Switzerland. Focusing on watchmaking technologies, the brand introduces a watch featuring lab-grown diamonds and another timepiece whose movement integrates an innovative solar module named Solargraph. That's certainly not it as you will see the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver, the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition, the TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition, and the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver. Let's explore.

TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma

TAG Heuer's latest Cerrera Plasma watch augments the brand's material ingenuity, featuring the Diamant d'Avant-garde technology. The material promises a play of light courtesy the lab-grown diamonds. Even the crown at 3 o'clock has been entirely executed in diamond. The Diamant d'Avant-Garde lab-grown diamonds are set in the case and the watch features embellished indexes.

The 44mm case of thewatch is, for the most part of it, made of sandblasted anodized aluminium. The dark timepiece dons a bold look courtesy an elegant black leather strap with black stitching and a black titanium Grade 2 ADLC-treated clasp. The special polycrystalline diamond dial leads the design of the watch. "Chemical vapour deposition (CVD) technology, which we refer to as 'Diamant d'Avant-Garde' at TAG Heuer, enables us to explore the versatility of carbon in the form of lab-grown diamonds - to create a stunning timepiece where diamonds are used in very unique shapes and textures. Lab-grown diamonds allow us to innovate and experiment with this exceptional material, and this opens up a new realm of possibilities for designers, watchmakers and engineers," said Edouard Mignon, Chief Innovation Officer, TAG Heuer & LVMH Watches & Jewelry Division.

The watch comes equipped with the TAG Heuer H02 Tourbillon Nanograph movement, featuring an inventive carbon hairspring developed in-house by the TAG Heuer Institute. The engine of the watch achieves a power reserve of around 65 hours.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph becomes the brand's first-ever solar-powered watch with the new Caliber TH50-00. The robust and inventive movement features a solar module, named Solargraph. With it, the need to change batteries is a thing of the past - it recharges with the sun or artificial light. With two minutes of this light energy, the watch runs for a whole day.

The partially transparent dial of the watch allows the movement to absorb the light energy, for it to get charged. The sun powers the engine and lightens the Super-LumiNova® elements of the timepiece. The bezel is made of a mix of carbon and green Super-LumiNova® and the dial and hands all feature Super-LumiNova® allowing the watch to offer the wearer outstanding legibility in dark situations.

A black sunray brushed dial has been housed inside a 40mm black DLC steel sandblasted case. Water resistant upto 200 metres, the timepiece has been fitted with a black rubber strap, which features black DLC steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons with adjustment link extension.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver

It won't be wrong to say that the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver adds depth to your underwater expeditions. With water resistance of 1,000 metres and a helium valve, depth is all you get. The Calibre TH30-00 is a new manufacture movement certified COSC with a 70-hours power reserve. With its 45mm case, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver resists the great depths of water, with thickness of just 15.75mm.

The minute and second hands have orange highlights making it useful for diving purposes. On the dial, the horizontal striped design that already features in the Aquaracer Professional 300 collection has also been featured on this watch. On the ceramic bezel, the first quarter is orange. This move is helpful in highlighting the area which is most often used for timing decompression stops.

The bezel has been created with black ceramic and a unique composite made of a hybrid material incorporating ceramic with an orange colour specifically developed for TAG Heuer. The orange seal around the crown tube plays a crucial role in determining if the screw down crown is properly fixed.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is made entirely from Grade 5 titanium and has been paired with a Titanium Grade 5, three rows bracelet. The watch comes with a custom protective case, which is as resistant as the watch, and includes a rescue dive torch.

TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition

With yet another collaboration of the giants, Porsche and TAG Heuer, the community gets a sporty timepiece with various highlights in yellow. The limited edition watch is based on the emblematic TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph. Thanks to the in-house Calibre Heuer 02, the watch delivers exceptional performance. The movement has been entirely manufactured at the TAG Heuer factory in Chevenez, consisting of 168 parts including a column wheel and a vertical clutch. The robust engine achieves a power reserve of around 80 hours.

The yellow colour has been used for various elements, which is inspired by Porsche's racing yellow PANTONE. The yellow can be seen in the Porsche logo on the bezel, as well as on the lacquer in the crown and in the graphic details present in small touches on the dial and on the second hand. The yellow colour is also present in the luminescence of the Super-LumiNova®, which lights yellow in the dark.

Coming to the sub-dials, they have a black asphalt-effect - used on the dial of the previous watch TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Chronograph created in 2021 for the official launch of the partnership between the two brands. Produced as a limited edition, the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition is engraved with the mention One of 1,500 and comes in a custom-made box in the colours of the edition. The 44mm black DLC steel case offers a water resistance of upto 100 metres and has been paired with a textile textured black calfskin strap with yellow stitchings and racing yellow lining.

Monaco Gulf TAG Heuer Special Edition

The new and refined version of the TAG Heuer Monaco is back, in partnership with Gulf. The watch dons the legendary colours and design of the Gulf brand and is equipped with the in-house movement - the Heuer 02. Based on the three iconic colours of the gulf, the design still offers a unique vibe with a combination of dark blue, turquoise, and orange. The Gulf logo on the other hand is in white.

The 12 o'clock index is replaced by the number '60' -- polished and rhodium plated -- to acknowledge the racing number on the Porsche Gulf racing cars. The TAG Heuer craftspeople worked on a personalised version of the oscillating mass and column wheel with a special engraving coloured to match the Gulf orange PANTONE.

The strap is made of perforated blue calfskin leather and an orange lining, but the holes now have different sizes. The TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition comes in a new packaging featuring a box and a special travel pouch. The movement has been housed in a 39mm case, which is water resistant upto 100 metres.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver

Drawing inspiration from a historic model from 1979, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver is a robust piece offered in a 43mm steel case. Its very generous use of orange serves a purpose given orange is the colour of safety on the seas - the bright tones provide maximum contrast against the blue of the water.

The steel bracelet of this TAG Heuer Aquaracer comes with a quality buckle with safety features and fine adjustment system. The Steel fine-brushed and polished case offers a water resistance of up to 300 metres. The piece offers a 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch-resistant black ceramic ring.

Powering the watch is the Calibre 5 Automatic movement, which delivers a power reserve of around 38 hours with a balance frequency of 28'800 (4Hz). The indexes and hands have been treated with white Super-LumiNova® to contrast with the colour of the dial. This Aquaracer has been completed with a steel, three rows bracelet.
