Strengthening its connection with motorsports and French racing cars, TAG Heuer has added a new timepiece to its square watch collection - the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue Limited Edition is a testament to the brand’s history with French racing cars which were prominent by their blue colour. First introduced in 1969 inspired by the Formula 1 race, the Monaco collection stood apart with its square-shaped cases, water-resistant chronograph, and Calibre 11 movement. The new Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue boasts a 39 mm grade 2 titanium sandblasted case capped with domed and beveled sapphire crystal. The crown, on the left-hand side, is in grade 2 titanium and the see-through caseback is closed with a sapphire crystal.
Inside the square case lies the silver sunray brushed dial with two subdials highlighted by the contrasting blue colour. At 3 o’clock lies the small seconds counter and to its opposite is the minute chronograph counter with rhodium-plated hand. The date window lies at 6 o’clock. The indices are plated with rhodium, polished and applied. The hour and minute hands are rhodium plated and layered with blue Super-LumiNova®. The central seconds hand is lacquered in lime yellow colour, which is also seen on the hour marker at 12 o’clock below which is the Heuer logo in black. The caseback of the watch is engraved with “One of 1000” referring to the limited edition timepiece.
The watch is powered by Calibre 11 Automatic movement and is flanked with a perforated blue calfskin strap with a titanium folding clasp engraved with the Heuer logo. The timepiece comes packed in a vibrant blue box with lime yellow accents.
Priced at approx. ₹8,50,000, the watch is available to buy from July 2023 at TAG Heuer boutiques, select retail stores, as well as online.
