Czapek introduces Place Vendôme Complicité in harmony blue and stardust

An official communication by Czapek states that its new Geneva Watch Days 2023 launch gets its name - Place Vendôme Complicité - from two ideas. The first is that the design of the watch is born as a melding of two aesthetics of its existing Quai des Bergues and Place Vendome lines. Given this there are two escapements working ‘complicitly’ in the watch. The second is that the watch is born of a collaboration between renowned German watcmaker Bernhard Lederer, and Czapek.

The resulting Place Vendôme Complicité is a double escapement watch, whose idea was born back in 2018, but has come to fruition only now. The combination of the movement architecture allows for one balance wheel and escapment to rest at 7:30 and the other at 4:30, with the differential resting at 12 o’clock. Beating inside the watches is a Calibre 8, created in collaboration with Bernhard Lederer oscillating at the frequency of 21,600 VPH and boasting about 72 hours of power reserve.

The two newly released 41.8mm timepieces are — Place Vendôme Complicité Harmony Blue and Place Vendôme Complicité Stardust, are crafted in 18K 5N rose gold and 18K white gold respectively. The beauty of the timepiece is entirely on display, thanks to the open-work display and the triangular sapphire bridges that offer an unimpeded view. There is a matte graine baseplate with blue or silver galvanic treatment depending on the version. Additionally, the dial incorporates satin-brushed flange, circular-grained minute track, partially skeletonized sword hands, and faceted mirror polished hour markers in red or white gold. The case also features sandblasted hollowed cut-out lugs. The back of the movement also features hand-bevelling.

Complementing the Place Vendôme Complicité Harmony Blue model is a matching alligator strap with 18K 5N rose gold folding clasp, while Place Vendôme Complicité Stardust model is completed with a black alligator strap featuring 18K white gold folding buckle. Both watches are a limited edition of 50 pieces each.
