Hublot’s latest limited edition is designed in collaboration with Depeche Mode

The new Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Depeche Mode pays tribute to the British band’s 15th studio album and world tour Memento Mori
Hublot has partnered with English electronic music band Depeche Mode to create the Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Depeche Mode, a timepiece celebrating the band’s latest album Memento Mori and worldwide concert tour. Through the collaboration, the brand intends to spread awareness for Conservation Collective, a global charity that unites a network of regional philanthropic foundations working to protect, conserve, and restore natural environments, and raise funds.

The brand and the band first collaborated 14 years ago for fundraising and awareness about environmental and humanitarian causes. Since then, the partnership has been renewed with each of the British band’s subsequent tours, and together the two have raised over US$ 2.3 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust and charity:water. Early last year, the band announced its 15th studio album, Memento Mori, which went on to sell over 100 millions albums. Hublot acted as the Charity Partner for the Memento Mori World Tour, helping raise funds and spreading awareness for the global environment charity Conservation Collective. With the first round of funding, Conservative Collective has been able to tackle plastic pollution at the grassroot level in 2023 by supporting seven impactful initiatives across seven countries. Three more rounds of funding are set to aim at better waste management and plastic-free clean-up initiatives.

The sand-blasted and polished black ceramic 42mm barrel-shaped watch with all-black aesthetics features a pyramid-shaped studs-type black ceramic bezel. On the dial, there is a skull motif with hourglass, the emblem that is seen in the video announcing the band’s return. Also, inspired by the concept of Memento Mori, there are small black ceramic spheres filled inside the hourglass that moves back and forth with the wrist’s movement. The dial is also incorporated with pyramid-shaped studs-type hour markers and band’s initials and logo ‘DM’ at 6 o’clock.

The watch is powered by a self-winding HUB1710 calibre movement, boasting an autonomy of about 50 hours. The timepiece is offered with two easily interchangeable straps - one made with recycled materials and velcro, in line with Conservation Collective’s plastic pollution initiatives. Other is black rubber with pyramid-shaped studs just like on the bezel. The watch is resistant to water up to 100 metres.

The watch is a 100-piece limited edition and comes in a special box offered with a 10” vinyl single of Depeche Mode’s Wagging Tongue, only available as part of this package, which are produced using green energy and recycled PVC.

Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Depeche Mode is priced at 29,18,000 (approx.)
