A new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40mm unveiled during 2024 Academy Awards

Rolex, a long-standing cinema partner of the Academy Awards has sponsored the Oscar Green Room this year, and soft launched a new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40mm for the 2024 Academy Awards via broadcasting a video clip before the official awards ceremony. The new watch was revealed in the final sequences of the clip.

New Rolex Day-Date 40 mm in 18 carat Everose gold was displayed in the room . Visitors to the room were able to see the new clock live. (Whether in the hustle and bustle of the event the celebrities actually have time to pay the piece the necessary attention remains questionable.)

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40

The new reference in the Day-Date line features a gradient gray dial and features Roman numeral hour markers, as well as the model's signature date display at 3 o'clock and day of the week display at 12 o'clock.

Further details about the technical specifications, price and release period of the timepiece have not yet been announced. It can be assumed that the version also contains the in-house caliber 3255 with a precision of -2/+2 seconds/day and a power reserve of 70 hours. If a similar configuration is configured with a chocolate-colored dial including Roman numerals (reference 228235) and a fluted bezel, the price is 42,500 euros.
