Unveiled at the ongoing Watches and Wonders 2024, the new poetic timepieces join the Van Cleef and Arples’s poetic complications collection and extraordinary dials collection. The former collection includes - Lady Arpels Jour Nuit Watch, Lady Jour Nuit Watch, Lady Arpels Brise d’Été Watch. While the latter ones include - Lady Arpels Jour Enchanté watch and Lady Arpels Nuit Enchantée watch.
Poetic Complications collection
Van Cleef & Arpels revisits its Lady Arpels Jour Nuit watch, which was launched in 2008, with two new models - a 38mm Lady Arpels Jour Nuit Watch and a 33mm Lady Jour Nuit Watch. Both are encased in white gold and feature bezel and tiny lugs decorated with diamonds. Their Murano aventurine glass dials, which features a 24-hour rotating disc, entails diamond-paved moon, snow-set yellow sapphires, or guilloché yellow gold sun, and diamond-set stars. The other half of the dials is composed of mother-of-pearl in 38mm model or painted blue for the 33-mm model carrying the brand’s name along with hour and minute hands.
The poetic timepieces are complemented with a blue alligator leather strap. Powering them is an automatic movement featuring a Day/Night module.
The other piece in the collection is Lady Arpels Brise d’Été watch, which pays tribute to nature and celebrates the freshness of a summer morning. It comes in a white gold crafted 38mm case set with diamonds. The mother-of-pearl dial of the creation features miniature painting, white and gold butterflies in plique-à-jour enamel, flowers leaves in champlevé and flowers and corollas in vallonné enamel, decorated with tsavorite spessartite garnets, and mother-of-pearl. The dial further displays retrograde hours and minutes.
An automatic movement with an automaton module and on-demand animation drives the watch and a green alligator leather strap flanks it.
Extraordinary Dials Collection
The two new limited edition timepieces - Lady Arpels Jour Enchanté Watch and Lady Arpels Nuit Enchantée Watch, added in the line are the fuses métiers d'art with the Maison’s jewelry and watchmaking expertise.
The 41mm watches are encased in white gold with diamonds adorning the bezel. The 3D dial of the Lady Arpels Jour Enchanté spotlights the graceful silhouette picking flowers under the early morning sun—there are white gold, plique-à-jour enamel leaves, yellow sapphire on the façonné enamel flower bed, a new technique developed by the brand, a luminous transparent feminine figure spreading wings in white gold and diamonds. In the background, there is a sun radiating spessartite garnets, coloured sapphires, or diamonds. This dial was assembled in 2 years with 180 hours of work.
The dial of the Lady Arpels Nuit Enchantée Watch exhibits a night sky moon gleaming its light on the crystals flowerbed upon which a fairy rests, thanks to the glimmering grisaille enamel technique, the white-gold fairy sparkles. Fairy’s wings are crafted in glitter plique-à-jour enamel with a pearlescent effect and the yellow sapphire are set on the Façonné enamel flowers. The time telling is done by a rock crystal set featuring rose gold hands, situated at 3 o’clock.
Both the novelties are equipped with manual winding calibre and are finished with a turquoise or purple alligator leather strap.
