Longines introduces three new colours in the Legend Diver collection

The new timepieces expand the modern interpretation unveiled last year, while retaining the vintage USP
On the 65th anniversary of the Legend Diver watch, Longines has unveiled three new models, expanding the collection with new dial colours. The vintage model of the super-compressor divers’ watch from 1959 featured an internal bidirectional rotating bezel, and it made its modern re-debut in 2007 in a 42mm stainless steel case. In 2023, the brand reintroduced the retro-style diver’s watch with the winged hourglass in its logo, but reduced its size to 39mm while retaining the water resistance of 300 metres that met the ISO 6425 standards.
The three new models are an expansion of the modern 39mm range, in striking dial colours: Green, terracotta and anthracite grey. The lacquered and polished dials are protected by a domed sapphire crystal with black metal plating and multiple layers of anti-reflective protection on both sides to enhance the legibility from all perspectives.

The hours are marked by elongated indexes and raised Arabic numerals coated with Super-LumiNova. The polished rhodium-plated arrow hands, also treated with Super-LumiNova, mark the time with optimum legibility. As an additional safety feature for divers, the seconds hand has a luminescent tip to confirm in the dark that the watch is running.

Another emblematic feature of this collection not to be missed is the internal bi-directional rotating bezel for measuring dive time on the 60-minute scale. The bezel design positioned inside the case protects it from accidental manipulation and shocks that could disrupt its settings. It is operated by the screw-in push-piece at 2 o’clock.

Inside the watch, under a solid case back with an engraving of a diver, ticks Longines’s exclusive Caliber L888.6 equipped with a silicon balance spring, offering a magnetic resistance ten times greater than the ISO 764 benchmark standard. The automatic movement delivers a power reserve of 72 hours and bears a C.O.S.C. certificate for proven precision.

The new models come on a stainless steel bracelet with “grains-of-rice” links placed in the centre, providing flexibility and comfort. This bracelet features a double-safety folding clasp with micro-adjustment.

It is priced at approx. INR 2,77,000.
