To mark the 30th anniversary of the Lange 1, A. Lange & Söhne unveiled two limited special models of the iconic timepiece. There’s a platinum version with a black onyx dial and a pink gold version with a blue dial, each limited to 300 pieces. Both versions are also presented as the Little Lange 1, in a more exclusive limited edition of 150 pieces each.
A central element of the design is the harmony of the golden ratio, which is reflected in the arrangement of the displays. The hour and minute circle is on the left, while the large date , power reserve indicator, and small seconds are arranged on the right along a vertical axis. These proportions give the watch an aesthetic that has lost none of its fascination even after decades.
The new colour variants of the Lange 1 and Little Lange 1 represent classic elegance that appropriately honours the anniversary. The platinum model with a black onyx dial gives the watch a hypnotic depth. The pink gold version impresses with a contrasting, deep blue dial made of 925 silver, which perfectly complements the warm shine of the precious metal. The models have a diameter of 38.5 mm (Lange 1) and 36.8 mm (Little Lange 1) and are characterised by a slim bezel and striking lugs.
Inside all models beats the calibre L121.1, a masterpiece of fine watchmaking that was first introduced in 2015. It enables the large date to jump forward at midnight and has a movement section with an eccentric balance wheel and a free-swinging balance spring that is manufactured in-house. The frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour ensures the highest level of accuracy, while the double barrel provides an impressive power reserve of 72 hours . The artistic movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back, including the three-quarter plate made of nickel silver with Glashütte ribbon cut, blued screws and eight screwed gold chatons.
The Lange 1 models are priced at INR 54,48,000 (approx.) for platinum and INR 45,67,000 (approx.) for gold. The Little Lange 1 models are priced at INR 51,30,000 (approx.) for platinum and INR 42,13,000 (approx.) in gold.
