Continuing the story of modern India through their luxury watches, Bangalore Watch Company’s latest collection – Peninsula Professional – honours India’s diverse landscape. Drawing its name from the Indian peninsula, the four watches in the collection are inspired landscapes like the majestic peaks of the Himlayas and the coastlines down south.
Laccadive in deep blueReimagining the recreational, luxury outdoor watch, the collection includes four distinct watches: The green dial Agumbe, a watch that celebrates the lush rainforests of India; Laccadive, with a blue dial, which pays tribute to 7500 kms of the Indian coastlines; Zanskar, with its white dial glorifies the high-peaks of Himalayas, and a limited edition watch called, Mannar. An ode to the freedivers of the Gulf of Mannar, a community that has been risking its life to find highly valuable rare wild pearls from the deep waters for 2000 years, each Mannar watch features a dial made entirely from a rare black mother-of-pearl that displays a unique pattern owing to the natural striations in the material.
Mannar dialThe case of the Peninsula Professional is shaped like a pebble, a commonly found element in nature. All 44mm in diameter, the watches come in a surgical-grade steel case, with a scratch-resistant superdome sapphire crystal. There is a date window at 6 o’clock, and there are 3D luminous hour markers in various shapes - round, arrow and baton. The markers at 3 and 9 feature a wave pattern symbolising the oceans and a tree icon symbolising the forests, respectively.
The case takes inspiration from pebbles“The story of India is not merely centuries old, but hundreds of millions of years old,” says Nirupesh Joshi, co-founder of the brand, on the inspiration behind the collection. “The Indian peninsula formed when a landmass separated from an ancient continent called Gondwana, about 180 million years ago.”
“Our Peninsula collection is an all-purpose outdoor watch – it can be used 200 meters underwater in the Indian Ocean, as well as 8000 meters above sea level on a Himalayan peak.”, adds Mercy Amalraj, co-founder and Head of Ownership Experience of the Bangalore-based brand.

Adding to this is a sporty fluoro-elastomer high-density rubber strap and 316L steel tang buckle. For nature lovers and watch enthusiasts, this collection is a reminder to respect, preserve, and pass on this land to the future.
