It’s been only three days since Malaysian brand Horologer Ming introduced a new timepiece, the 57.04 Iris, limited to 100 pieces, to commemorate its eighth birthday. However, the watch is already sold out on the website. This speaks volumes about how enthusiasts see the brand. Since its inception, Horloger Ming has received a lot of love from its 8,000-strong community of friends and collectors, and has sold more than 15,000 watches. Its repertoire now features over 75 references, and strengthening it is the latest release.
Ming 57.04 IrisThe Ming 57.04 Iris takes its name after the colour of the metallic deep dish dial, which switches between turquoise, purple and also shows shades of blue in between, achieved with a process of multiphasic coating over a machined brass base.
There are laser-cut floating hour markers, coated with the brand’s proprietary lume, MING Polar White. Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the case comes in 316L steel, a popular request from Horologer Ming’s community. Further, the diamond-cut hands and a unique sandwich-style round minute chronograph minute counter disc at 6 o’clock are applied with blue-coated Super-LumiNova X1.
The watch features a fifth-generation design language, a modern take on Art Deco, and was several years in development. The concept includes a new case design family integrated with the brand’s signature stepped lugs, made with nine separate pieces and featuring different finishes on each surface.
Visible through the sapphire crystal is the manual-winding Sellita MING SW562.M1 movement, boasting about 60 hours of power reserve. The watch is offered with a stainless steel universal bracelet and an anthracite goat strap.
The watch is priced at Rs. 6,85,000 (approx.)
