Presage adds two new cocktails to its collection

Seiko seems to be continuing its “shaken not stirred” tradition introduced at the Basel Fair this year, with two new additions to the cocktail-inspired Presage collection.

Inspired by cocktails created by the head bartender, Hisashi Kishi at the Star Bar in Tokyo's Ginza area, Seiko launches two new designs to its Presage collection: the Starlight and the Sakura Fubuki.

The Starlight is inspired by the brilliance and the mystery of the night sky and this resonates in the deep blue of the dial, brought to life by the glow of the starlight which radiates through out from the centre of the dial. As Kishi puts it, “The secret of a great Starlight is the bubbles. I shake the cocktail mixer in a special way that I call my ‘Infinity Shake’ to add tiny bubbles that sparkle in the glass and create a sense of starlight in the night sky.”

"The sharp taste of the gin mixes perfectly with the richness of the sweet Sake."

The Sakura Fubuki with its cherry pink tint, is, to no one's surprise, inspired by the cherry blossoms which play a pivotal role in Japanese culture. The design captures this most evocative time for the cherry blossom in its delicate pink dial, as does Kishi’s creation. As he says, “I love the flavors of this cocktail. The sharp taste of the gin mixes perfectly with the richness of the sweet Sake. The malted rice floats on the surface like cherry blossom in the spring breeze.”

Each of the designs are available in two versions – one with the 4R35 three hand calendar calibre and the other with a centre power reserve hand shaped like a cocktail glass stem.
