At a recent event in Mumbai, the Italian design inspired watch brand Panerai celebrated its partnership with their brand ambassador Mahendra Singh Dhoni with the release of two special edition watches – the Luminor GMT and the Luminor Chrono Flyback.

The evening kicked off with an exclusive media preview followed by a grand reception at the St. Regis in Mumbai with the presence of MS Dhoni – the man himself and Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué.

The two special editions – the Luminor GMT and the Luminor Chrono Flyback are available in a 44 mm solid AISI 316L stainless steel and Goldtech (a gold alloy developed by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee), respectively. Apart from the case materials used in the two special editions, the rest of the features are very similar to each other. They feature a green dial which is not just MS Dhoni's favourite colour (given his connection to the Indian Army) but also works perfectly well with the brand's DNA. A welcome colour variation to the Panerai family of watches!

On the back, both the watches feature a see-through case back that is engraved with MS Dhoni's trademark move - the “Helicopter” shot, his signature and a special number 183. For those who are not aware – the number 183 holds a special place in the cricketing icon's heart as it is the highest number he has scored in One-Day International Cricket.
