With the 25thofficial James Bond film No Time To Die release date looming in the corner (April 2020), OMEGA has unveiled a new timepiece dedicated to the famous spy. This special timepiece will not only be featured in the movie but will be available in OMEGA's current collection from February. The watch was unveiled at a special event in New York with Actor Daniel Craig and producers Micheal G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli in attendance.
Designed with special inputs from Daniel Craig and the 007 producers, the new Seamaster Diver 300m 007 Edition is built with military needs in mind. Craig suggested in making the watch as lightweight as possible and also advised the brand to feature the watch with some vintage touches and colour to “give it a unique edge.”
Keeping these points in mind, the new watch has been crafted out of Grade 2 Titanium that is a strong and lightweight material. It has been used for the 42mm case and mesh bracelet with an innovative adjustable buckle. Furthermore, the “tropical” brown aluminium dial and bezel ring with SuperLumiNova filled diving scale, blackened hands and indexes adds to the vintage touch that Craig desired while also decreasing the weight of the overall watch.
On the case back features a series of numbers that follows the format of a genuine military watch. The NAIAD LOCK caseback is engraved with“0052” and “923 7697” which signifies the code-number specified for Navy personnel and the number of the diver's watch, respectively. Below this number is the engraving "A/007/62" where “A” stands for the code used to signify a watch with a screw-down crown, "007" is Janes Bond's iconic agent number and “62” is the year the very first Bond film was released.
The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m 007 Edition is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 and is available in a titanium mesh bracelet or a striped NATO strap in dark brown, grey and beige with 007 engraved on the loop.
The watch will be released in OMEGA Boutiques from February 2020.
