At the centre of fine watchmaking sine 1845, NOMOS Glashütte is one of the most popular German watch brands of the century. As 2020 marks its 175thanniversary, NOMOS Glashütte decided to celebrate this momentous occasion with the release of three limited-edition versions of a classic model – the NOMOS Ludwig. Identified by its Roman numerals, subtle indexes and a railroad minute marker, the NOMOS Glashütte Ludwig (also by the French name chemin de fer) is a classic timepiece that has enjoyed its day in the sun. A slender case reminiscent of a pocket watch and dedicated to people who treasure traditions, there is no watch that NOMOS Glashütte could have celebrated their 175th anniversary with.
The three anniversary editions are limited to just 175 pieces each and is regulated by a NOMOS as a chronometer would be. Featuring traditional features of the Ludwig, the three watches house polished, enamel-white dials and rounded hands in the classic leaf shape. What is different than the regular Ludwig is the sapphire crystal glass back with a limited edition engraving and the addition: “175 Years Watchmaking Glashütte.”
Alongside the hand-wound version with the NOMOS Alpha caliber (Ludwig – 175 Years Watchmaking Glashütte), there are two versions with innovative automatic calibers from NOMOS Glashütte: DUW 3001 (in Ludwig neomatik 39) and DUW 6101 (in Ludwig neomatik 41 date).
All watches will be available with retailers from mid-July.
