Keeping this philosophy in mind, IWC Schaffhasuen launches the Pilot‘s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG” . With this timepiece, the watch brand honours the partnership and introduces Mercedes-AMG as a permanent feature in their Pilot's Watch collection. The 2021 IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “AMG” (Ref. IW377903) is the first timepiece that comes in a 43mm Grade 5 titanium case that is extremely light and scratch-resistant. The use of titanium gives the watch a matte grey appearance that also pays tribute to AMG's signature Selenite Grey Magno paint finish.

Keeping it simple and aesthetically charming is the dial that is made of woven carbon fibre. This is a material that is directly taken from AMG's aero components which are developed through a complicated process of heating and pressure. The use of weaving machines that take the raw material and continuously weave it into textile structures gives the carbon fibre its distinct woven “carbon look”. Set in contrast to the carbon “black” dial is the presence of silver chronograph sub-dials that is inspired by motorsport instruments. The Mercedes-AMG logo is emblazoned on the tinted sapphire crystal caseback. Through the see-throug caseback one can witness the workings of the IWC-manufactured Calibre 69385. This is a robust and precise chronograph movement that offers a battery backup of 46 hours.
