LVMH Watch Week: Bulgari shows its gem-setting prowess

At LVMH Watch Week 2023, Bulgari showed a range of jewellery timepieces that highlighted the watchmaker's expertise in the genre.
2022 was a strong year for Bulgari. Apart from breaking records for thinness and bringing the Octo Finissimo line to the forefront in a big way, the brand also crafted the very tiny ‘Piccolissimo’ BVL 100 movement, which it placed in the Serpenti Misteriosi jewellery watch collection. It was a watch unveiled at LVMH Watch Week last year, and it also showcased the brand’s prowess with craftsmanship and gem-setting. This year, at LVMH Watch Week 2023,  Bulgari is further highlighting its expertise in the area.

The fact that Bulgari originally began as a Roman jeweller is something that the brand celebrates in its watches for women. These are pieces that are characterised by high design, a deep degree of creativity, and of course the brand’s DNA. Showcasing all these this year, are models in the Divas’ Dream, Divas’ Dream Mosaica, Allegra, Serpenti Tubogas Infinity, and Serpenti Sedduttori lines.

The Divas’ Dream is a playful, vibrant piece where the dial in the centre is surrounded by petals-like precious stones whose shape is inspired by the gingko leaf. Employing stones like topaz, tanzanite, rubies, and tourmalines amongst others, and pairing them with gold, the brand has created blue, mauve, and red models. The Divas’ Dream Mosaica is a testament to the brand’s expertise with gem-setting - it features a meticulously gem-set dial in a fan-shaped pattern with the colour of the stones deepening as the pattern progresses. Then there is the Allegra with its striking cocktail of tourmalines, citrines, rhodolites, and peridots

For a while now the Serpenti has been amongst women's top jewellery watches, and this year the brand has upped the ante on it with the Serpenti Tubogas Infinity. The name derives from the fact that the watch features a serpentine gem-setting which begins from the case and extends to the bracelet - this is the first time the brand has tried the design, and it features on both single and double tour bracelets.

And finally, the brand has released two Serpenti Seddutori models with deep black dials, one in steel, and the other in steel and rose gold.
