Watches and Wonders 2025 Ressence’s new TYPE 7 debuts with two GMTs

For the first time, the brand introduces the GMT function, a new case shape, and an integrated bracelet design
Ressence is continuing the legacy of simplicity with functionality with its latest edition of tool watches—TYPE 7. For the first time, the collection comprises GMT functionality. The two novelties feature a rugged yet refined aesthetic and are touted to be the brand’s most advanced tool watch till date. The variants are launched in two colours—Night Blue and XV Aquamarine; a limited edition that celebrates the Belgian brand’s 15th anniversary.

While the brand usually follows a round case design, this time, the new watches appear in a tonneau-shaped case. The 41mm case is crafted from Grade 5 titanium and features the Ressence Compression Lock System (RCLS), a case back mechanism that locks and compresses the gasket with two positions: 'lock' and 'set', providing water resistance of at least 50 meters. Along with this, the bracelets are also integrated, another first for the brand, are made from Grade 5 titanium with a deployant clasp, offering five adjustable positions for a personalized fit on all wrists. The dial is topped with an anti-reflective coating inside, and has blue Grade A Super-LumiNova-filled hour markers, making it readable even in the dark.

Furthering on this, the case features a dual-chamber construction, with the upper chamber filled with 2.95ml of oil, due to which the reflection on the dial is minimized to nil and offers seamless legibility.

There is an oil temperature display below the hour hand, a self-equilibrating bellows system that subtly expands and contracts to compensate for changes in oil volume. As temperatures shift between -5°C and +55°C, the bellows instinctively adjust, keeping the movement performing at its peak. Using a colour-coded system—shifting from deep blue through green and yellow to a vivid red—the display gives a quick, on-the-fly reading of whether the oil, influenced by both external and wrist temperature, is within its optimal range.

The watch also features a fixed bezel, making it structurally strong and long-lasting. The Night Blue edition features a ceramic bezel, while the XV Aquamarine opts for lightweight aluminium, which is an 80-piece limited edition made for globetrotters, housed with a GMT function, which is indicated by a red arrow on a 24-hour sundial, seamlessly integrated into the dial.

The self-winding TYPE 7 is powered by patented ROCS 7, a movement that offers a 36-hour power reserve with 28,800 vibrations per hour. The 14mm thick watch weighs only 123 grams and comes with optional leather or rubber strap.
