Tissot 2022 watches span the Seastar, T-Race Moto GP, and PRX lines

Tissot has unveiled the new collection of Seastar Professional - Seastar 1000 Quartz and Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 , and added nine new offerings to the PRX line launched last year.

Amidst the slew of watches being launched by the Swatch Group brands - Omega made a huge splash just last week - Tissot has gone ahead and unveiled its 2022 offerings, the highlights of which are the Seastar and PRX watches

Tissot Seastar

The year 2021 saw the release of three watches in Tissot's collection of Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 series. For this year, Tissot has launched three references in Seastar 1000 Quartz and two references for Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80, which can withstand any pressure.

The new Seastar 1000 Quartz is a 36mm watch available in three lacquered dial references - Ref T1202102105100 is a black dial with yellow gold details; Ref T1202101104100 comes in an all-blue variant; and Ref T120.210.11.011.00 is an all-white one. All three come with a stainless steel bracelet with an option of interchangeable silicone straps in colours like orange, white, light-blue and black.

The Tissot 1000 Quartz is powered by a Quartz EOL movement, and has a central seconds hand, and dotted, bar-shaped and triangular hour markers with a date window at 6 o'clock. The watches here get a water resistance of 300 metres, and a uni-directional rotating bezel for timing dives. The stainless steel caseback gets the Seastar engraving with the logo of a Seahorse.

Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80

Bolder and bigger is the Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 with its black PVD coated cases. The 2022 collection maintains aesthetics that are similar to the 2021 variants. At 46mm, Ref T120.607.17.441.01 comes with a gradient yellow-gold option with a gradient yellow-black dial, while Ref T1206073704100 comes with blue-black dial - both the references get a wave textured dial. Ref T120.607.17.441.01 gets all-yellow hour markers on the bezel, yellow-coloured hours, minutes, and seconds hands, and yellow hour markers (dotted, triangular, and bar-shaped) with a leather strap, while Ref T1206073704100 gets all-white numerals on the bezel, white hands, minutes, and seconds with white hour markers (dotted, triangular and bar-shaped) with a textured textile strap.

The watches come with a date window at 6 o'clock and are powered by a mechanical self-winding Powermatic 80 movement and an automatic helium escape valve. The stainless steel case and caseback gets 600 metres water resistance and the sapphire crystal caseback gets 'Diver's Watch 600m' and ISO 6425 engravings.

Tissot PRX

Adding nine new watches to the PRX line that was introduced last year, Tissot has retained the modern outlook of the line with a 35mm size (perfect for all wrists), gold bezels and a chronograph.

Leading the charge of the eight new models are two 40mm iterations with brown and blue dials in a satin sunray finish. Both featuring satin-finished steel cases, integrated bracelets, and 18K solid rose gold fluted bezels. The watches are powered by the high-performance Powermatic 80 movement, with an 80- hour power reserve.

For the introductory 35mm size of the PRX, Tissot has introduced satin-finished steel cases, in a variety of dial colours including silver, blue, green, and light blue. A fifth model is a steel with a yellow-gold-PVD-plated case and bracelet and a yellow-gold-coloured dial. All watches are powered by a quartz movement.

The final PRX is the PRX Automatic Chronograph, a 42mm satin-finished steel watch in two dial variations - blue vertical brushed dial with silver counters, and silver vertical brushed dial with black counters and rose gold indices. At 3 o’clock is the chronograph minute subdial, at 6 o’clock the hour subdial, and at 9 o’clock. The PRX Automatic Chronograph is powered by the Valjoux A05.H31 calibre, and has a 60-hour power reserve.

Tissot Moto GP

Tissot became the Official Timekeeper of Moto GP in 2001 and will continue to be so for the 2022 season as well. Taking its association with the famed bike race forward, Tissot has launched three references dedicated to Moto GP series—Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic, Tissot T-Race MotoGP Quartz, and Tissot T-Race MotoGP Quartz.

 The collection starts with 45.5mm Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Ref T115.427.27.057.01. Looking contemporary, the watches come with black red detailing. The limited-edition Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic is powerered by the wearer's wrists with a C.01.211 movement. Limited to 3,333 pieces, the stainless steel case and caseback of this watch have a water resistance of 100 metres. The watch is completed in a bi-material rubber and perforated leather strap. The watch gets a date window at 6 o'clock.



The Tissot T-Race Moto GP Quartz, Ref T141.417.11.057.00, is limited to 8,000 pieces gets powered by the quartz movement. The case side replicates cooling fins of an engine and handle-bar side pushers. The 45mm watch gets a stainless steel case with a Moto GP engraved caseback giving it a 100 metre water resistance. The watch is completed on a stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp.

Tissot T Race Marc Marquez edition Ref T141.417.11.051.00 is limited to 3993 pieces also comes at 45mm, is made in close collaboration with legendary Moto GP champion. The watch portrays red chronographs with red coloured second hands. The watch is also powered by a quartz movement. The stainless steel case and the engrave caseback give this watch a water resistance of 100 metres. The watch gets a metal bracelet with folding clasp.

Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar

The collection comes with three references Ref T121.420.47.051.06, Ref T121.420.47.051.07, and Ref T121.420.46.051.00. The watches feature an operating system that runs on solar power and is larger at 47mm. The watches are capable of providing NBA score in real-time and also the wearers can know about the next Tour de France race using the app. Ref T121.420.47.051.06 gets a blue case and blue textile strap, Ref T121.420.47.051.07 gets a black case with yellow gold markings and a khaki textile strap while Ref T121.420.46.051.00 gets an orange case with orange leather strap. Powering the watches is the SwALPS low-energy operating system with a touchscreen, sapphire crystal dial.
