Just in: H. Moser & Cie.'s cylindrical tourbillon skeleton watch

The Schaffhausen based watch manufacturer presents the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton watch at the 2022 Watches and Wonders, Geneva protected by a stainless case.

There are watches that are made as mass production, then there are some that are limited edition and then there are those meant exclusively for the collector. Unveiled at the 2022, Watches and Wonders, Geneva, Switzerland, the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton by H. Moser & Cieis meant for those who have got a taste for the best timepieces.

It is not a new phenomenon that watch manufacturers collaborate with each other. The year 2020 saw a collaboration between H. Moser & Cie and MB&F to create the Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon. This 2020 watch Ref 3811-1200 was made using the three-dimensional movement philosophy, and featured a sapphire dome, a one-minute flying tourbillon.

Here, the dial was tilted to display the time. For the year 2022, H. Moser & Cie’s new watch features a cylindrical balance spring which means that the central gravity of this spring is constantly shifting. Also, the cylindrical balance spring expands and contracts in harmony.

The 42.8mm stainless steel watch features a fumé blue dial that goes dark blue on the edges with only hours and minutes hands with a white H. Moser & Cie’s logo. A combination of cylindrical hairspring with a one-minute flying tourbillon movement at 6 o’clock means superior precision. The white bold hour markers use Globolight®, (a ceramic-based material containing Super-LumiNova®). The hour and minute hands also contain Globolight inserts.

Powering the watch is the calibre HMC 811, self-winding, three-dimensional manufacture movement with a 3 Hz frequency and a power reserve of minimum 74 hours. The skeleton caseback of the watch comes with a two-way winding system in gold with a skeleton oscillating weight. The stainless stell case and the skeleton caseback gives this watch a water resistance of 120metres. The watch is completed on a hand-stictched black alligator leather strap with folding clasp, and engraved with H. Moser & Cie’s logo.
