The second edition of Rado x Marina Hoermanseder is here

The second-time collaboration between Rado and the French-Austrian designer has resulted in the Rado Captain Cook x Marina Hoermanseder Heartbeat, a 90s style watch inspired by Berlin's Kreuzberg district.
It was in July last year that Rado and French-Austrian designer Marina Hoermanseder joined hands to create a delicately feminine timepiece. Hoermanseder, who has worked at Alexander McQueen and has had celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Lady Gaga, and Nicki Minaj wearing her designs, had taken Rado's Captain Cook watch and given it a gentle, lady-like touch with pastel shades and rose gold trims. Now, taking this collaboration to the next level is a second edition, decidedly bolder timepiece - the  Rado Captain Cook x Marina Hoermanseder Heartbeat.

Inspired by Berlin's Kreuzberg district, which is where Hoermanseder lives, the Rado Captain Cook x Marina Hoermanseder Heartbeat is a 37mm steel yellow gold PVD watch with a white ceramic dial and bezel insert. With a touch of playfulness, the dial features a colourful rainbow of eight precious stones (blue sapphire, light blue aquamarine, green tsavorite, yellow sapphire, orange sapphire, red spinel, pink sapphire, violet sapphire), along with applied indices, and a yellow gold coloured central seconds hand with a Marina Hoermanseder's signature, which also doubles up as a heartbeat logo. The applied indices and hour and minute hand all feature white Super-LumiNova®, while the signature yellow gold coloured moving anchor symbol with silver coloured backplate rests at 12 o'clock. A date window is set at 3 o'clock. The bezel, which has laser-engraved, gold-coloured metallised markers and numerals are set against a white ceramic background.

Beating inside is the Rado R763 automatic movement with a NivachronTM anti-magnetic hairspring. The movement, which has a power reserve of 80 hours, is visible via the transparent caseback. The Rado Captain Cook x Marina Hoermanseder Heartbeat is water-resistant to 100 metres.

Another Hoermanseder touch comes via the straps. While the watch comes with a rice-grain yellow-gold PVD-coated steel bracelet, what is offered additionally is a black double-length leather with embossed alligator motif NATO strap, and another black standard-length leather strap with the same embossed alligator-motif surface. The watch is delivered in a Marina Hoermanseder-branded black pouch.
