Ferdinand Berthoud presents the last Chronométre FB 2T

Ferdinand Berthoud launches the final version of their first calibre FB-T – revealed in 2015 – with the new Chronométre FB 2T.
Swiss watchmaking brand Ferdinand Berthoud honours the legacy of their founder, 18th-century Swiss horologist best known for his marine chronometers, with 38 editions of their new timepiece, the Chronométre FB 2T – Final Edition. Presented for the first time in a round case, the Chronométre FB 2T, is an evolution of the 2015 launch, the Chronométre FB 1, with its octagonal case.

Powered by the calibre FB-T.FC-2 mechanical hand-wound movement, the Chronométre FB 2T is available in three exclusive editions: FB 2T.2 in 18K rose gold with a black satin-brushed dial; FB 2T.2-1 in 18K rose gold with a ruthenium satin-brushed dial; and, FB 2T.1 in 18-carat white gold with a blue satin-brushed dial.

The hands of the three timepieces are facetted and skeletonized dagger-shaped - there are hours and minutes hands with a third central sweep-seconds hand: 18-carat rose gold and glided bronze for the FB 2T.2; 18-carat gold with blue PVD treatment and bronze with blue CVD treatment for FB 2T.2-1; and 18-carat white gold and rhodium-plated bronze for the FB 2T.1.

The three editions come with a domed “chevée” sapphire crystal glare-proofed on both sides and are hand-engraved with the inscription “EDITION FINALE”. Their calibre FB-T.FC-2 movement is manually wound using a differential placed at the center of the fusée-and-chain transmission. It offers a 53-hour power reserve that is constantly delivered to the patented escapement, a tourbillon with central seconds.
