Chopard launches elegant new models

The scintillating world of Haute Horlogerie is incomplete without the Swiss luxury brand Chopard. Known for their exquisite and elegant take on watchmaking, the Maison reveals ten new models at Watches and Wonders 2023.

Alpine Eagle 41 XPS

A contemporary yet sporty and chic rendition of the collection, the new Alpine Eagle 41 XPS comes with a small seconds indication, a double chronometer, and a Poinçon de Genève certification. The 41mm piece is crafted in Lucent Steel A223 and encases a textured "Monte Rosa Pink" dial which is topped with applied white gold hour markers, numerals enhanced using Grade X1 Super-LumiNova, and white gold baton-type hours and minutes hands that carry the same luminescent treatment. The case is 8mm thick and integrates a crown engraved with a compass rose on the bezel.

The Alpina Eagle 41 XPS is equipped with the automatic-winding L.U.C. 96.40-L movement that houses a 65-hour power reserve - thanks to the brand's Twin Technology with its two stacked barrels. A 22-carat gold off-center micro-rotor operates the automatic winding system of the movement.

The watch comes on a matching Lucent steel tapering bracelet with a satin-brushed wide link and sides and a polished central cap.

Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF

Chopard combines precision and style in the second hight-frequency. model of the Alpine Eagle collection - the Alpine Eagle Cadene 8HF.

The 41mm chronometer features a pitch-black dial with subtle orange accents encased in titanium and beats at a frequency of 8Hz - twice as fast as a standard automatic movement. The dial features an "eagle iris" pattern and an orange arrow-shaped sweep-seconds hand with an eagle feather-shaped counterweight. An orange railway track minutes circle pared down to just baton-type hour markers and 12 o'clock in Roman numerals completes the novelty.

The Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF is equipped with the chronometer-certified Chopard calibre 01.12-C movement which is COSC-certified and packs a 60-hour power reserve. It is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback.

The watch comes with a tapering bracelet in grade 5 titanium, wide links with satin-brushed sides, and a polished central cap with a triple folding clasp in grade 5 titanium.

Happy Sport

A favourite amongst women, the reinvented Happy Sport model features a 25mm case - a first for the collection - and is available in seven variations based on the materials, strap options, and diamond settings: two models in Lucent steel with a double-tour strap in midnight blue, one with double tour purple strap, and the other in a green strap; one in Lucent steel with diamond-set bezel; another option Lucent steel and ethical 18-carat rose gold with double tour strap; and a last option in Lucent steel and ethical 18-carat rose gold with a diamond-set bezel.

The dainty quartz timepiece exudes elegance with its soft pearly dials in silvery grey, blue, pink, and green, featuring five dancing diamonds on rhodium-plated Roman numerals and cone-shaped rhodium-plated hours and minutes hands. The crown comes in options of stainless steel or ethical 18-carat rose gold and is set with a sapphire cabochon in the respective material.

Happy Sport (Automatic)

The iconic Happy Sport welcomes a new model in Lucent steel. The 33mm piece comes with a striking bluish-purple dial with the signature five dancing diamonds. The "midnight purple" guilloché dial features rhodium-plated Roman numerals and hour markers, cone-shaped hours and minute hands, and a baton-type sweep-seconds hand.

Equipped with the Chopard 09.01-C automatic winding movement, the new Happy Sport model integrates a sapphire-set crown into the diamond-set bezel. It offers a 42-hour power reserve and is available on a glossy blueish-purple alligator leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle.

Haute Joaillerie

Known for her affair with gem set pieces, Chopard's Co-President and Artistic Director, Caroline Scheufele reveals two new high jewellery models at the ongoing Watches and Wonders fair in Geneva.

The first is a white gold model set with diamonds in a virtuoso arrangement of round and pear shapes, studded with emeralds. The dial features 12 pear-shaped diamond hour markers to form a rosette at the center.

The second piece is elevated by two very rare vivid yellow pear-shaped diamonds held by yellow gold prongs at 12 and 6 o'clock. The corolla around the watch is adorned with white diamonds.

Both pieces come in Fairmined-certified ethical 18-carat gold.

Imperiale

Limited to 25 original special editions, the ethical 18-carat rose gold Imperiale celebrates the lotus flower with polished rose gold lacework set against a rotating disc of the day/night indication. The disc changes the colour of the sky depicted on the mother-of-pearl dial according to the time of day. The cerulean lacquer of the sky displays seven gold-powder stars while snow-set diamonds and sapphires in six shades of blue ensure the day-night transition.

The Imperiale model comes equipped with the self-winding L.U.C. 96.30-L calibre and offers a 65-hour power reserve. It sits on a seamless blue pearlescent alligator leather strap with an ethical 18-carat rose gold pin buckle.

L.U.C 1860

Chopard reinvents the spirit of the first L.U.C timepiece presented in 1997 with the new L.U.C 1860 in Lucent steel. Available in a salmon-coloured solid gold guilloché dial, the 36.5mm novelty features the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark. It is equipped with the chronometer-certified mechanical self-winding movement L.U.C calibre 96.40-L which is wound by a gold micro-rotor and two barrels based on the Maison's Twin technology.

The two-tone dial offers a stunning contrast with the white gold touches of the chevron hour-markers echoing the slender faceted shape of Dauphine-type hands and displays guilloched rings marking the minutes scale, the central zone, and the small seconds counter. The Chopard logo features at the 12 o'clock position in a cartouche while the small seconds counter lies at 6 o'clock.

The L.U.C 1860 comes with an anthracite grey calfskin leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and L.U.C engraved on the Lucent Steel pin buckle.

L.U.C 1963 Heritage Chronograph

Limited to a special set of 25 pieces, Chopard's new L.U.C 1963 Heritage Chronograph features a 42mm case in Lucent Steel with an English-green dial. The hand-wound flyback chronograph is powered by the L.U.C Calibre 03.07-L, a descendant of the original L.U.C 03.03-L - but is hand-wound and does not feature a date complication. The flyback complication can be enabled without having to zero-reset the counters using the pusher at 4 o'clock. The chronograph has been rewarded with a Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark.

The Lucent steel case comes with a green PVD dial topped with transferred hour markers, a minutes track, and snailed concentric chronograph counters. It also displays rhodium-plated Dauphine fusée-type hour and minute hands, a rhodium-plated central sweep seconds chronograph hand, and faceted and rhodium-plated small seconds and chronograph counter hands.

The dial displays the small seconds at 6 o'clock, a 30-minute counter between 2 and 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at 9.30.

The L.U.C 1963 Heritage Chronograph is available with a brown calfskin strap with green lining and green bridle stitching.

L'Heure du Diamant

Chopard sums up its wealth of artisanal crafts with a sparkling showcase of the new L'Heure du Diamant timepiece. Fashioned from ethical 18-carat white or rose gold, the oval-shaped piece features a textured mother-of-pearl dial with marquis-cut diamonds around the rim. It comes on a tree bark-textured 18-carat white or rose gold bracelet and is powered by the Chopard 09.01-C self-winding movement.

The dial comes dotted with 12 diamond hour markers and rhodium-plated or gilded hour and minute hands. It houses a 42-hour power reserve and comes with an alternate black leather strap option as well.

Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph

Chopard's Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph also gets an upgrade at Watches and Wonders 2023. Available in an all-new 40.5 mm Lucent Steel case, the new Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph is available in a selection of four colours ranging from light green Verdo Chiaro, cherry red Rosso Amrena, grey Grigio-blue to the black Nero Corsa.

Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph

The novelty draws inspiration from the automotive bodywork and is fitted with a sapphire crystal that is glare-proof. The dial is topped with Arabic numerals coated in Super-LumiNova and three small counters. The chronograph is accompanied by ribbed rubber straps reminiscent of the Dunlop racing tires from the 1960s.

Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph

Equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement that is chronometer-certified, the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph offers 4Hz frequency and features central hours and minute hands, small seconds and a date display between 4 and 5 o'clock, and a stop-second function. It houses a 54-hour power reserve.
