Blancpain’s Bathyscaphe Quantieme Complet Phases de Lune now in a new black ceramic case and high-tech ceramic bracelet

The launch also include one Bathyscaphe three-hand and and two flyback chronograph models, crafted in the same ceramic material
Fifty Fathoms by Blancpain is considered by many as the first true diver’s watch launched in 1953, and its everyday wear version, the Bathyscaphe line was introduced in 1956 with smaller diameter. The new timepieces by the brand expand the line with a new material -  the Bathyscaphe Quantieme Complet Phases de Lune now comes in ceramic for the first time, and also has specially made and patented high-tech ceramic bracelet, which is scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic and five times harder and 25 per cent lighter than steel.
Bathyscaphe Quantieme Complet Phases de Lune
The 43.6mm timepiece in black (Ref. 5054-0130-NABA) is incorporated with a satin-brushed uni-directional bezel with ceramic insert, and is also available in two other sun-brushed dial colours - blue (Ref. 5054-0140-NAOA), green (Ref. 5054-0153-NABA) - and features the brand’s signature moonphase complication at 12 along with silicon balance spring. Further, the dial displays contrasting LiquidmetalTM hour-markers, central date ring, moonphase at 6 o’clock, and day of the week and month windows on the left and right side respectively at 12 o’clock.

The sapphire caseback reveals automatic calibre 6654.P, decorated with bevelling, circular graining and snailing and a silicon balance-spring. The watch has a power reserve of about 72 hours.
The launch debuts the high-tech ceramic bracelets in the line. A design specially created for Blancpain that ensures comfort, its crafting process sees ceramic being reduced to 25 per cent in volume, heated at 1,400°C, machined with diamond tools, and finished with satin-brushing. Each link of bracelet is carefully measured, designed, and finished by experts, and put together with the help of cam-shaped pins.

Bathyscaphe Flyback Chronograph
Appearing in the same 43.6mm black ceramic cases, the new Bathyscaphe Flyback Chronograph models are offered in black and green sun brushed dials. The watches feature dial-matching uni-directional bezels with ceramic inserts, two chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, and a knurled crown at 3 o’clock. The dial shows a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o'clock, and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.

Powering these watches is the calibre F385, with vertical clutch and integrated column-wheel, beating at 5Hz, and boasting a 50-hour power reserve.

Bathyscaphe Time and date model
There is a time-date model (Ref. 5000-0130-01S) joining the release. It comes in with black ceramic uni-directional bezel and black sunburst dial with white hour markers and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. The automatic calibre 1315 drives this watch and provides a 12-hour power reserve.

All the timepieces are offered with either bracelets, or ceramic, NATO, and sailcloth straps.
The watches are 300 metres water resistant.
